Oswego grabs the lead on a Conor Monaghan triple just seconds into the game and the Lakers were never headed in the 1st half. They opened up a 9 pt lead at 15-6 6 minutes into the period but Itahca would quickly  tie it at 15 2 minutes later. Lakers would twice more extend their advantage to 8 points but Ithaca would always respond and the teams went into the locker room with the Lakers up 38-36.

Bombers opened the 2nd with a three for their 1st lead of the night and from that point it was back and forth with the teams still tied at 53 wiith 13:44 left to play. Oswego then went on an 8-0 run to grab an advantage they wouldn't relinquish. Down 64-56 the Bombers fought back to within 2 at 64-62 but Chris Gilkes scores on a layup and a threeball to boost the lead to 7. The Bombers made one last push to close to 71-69 with 46 seconds left but the Lakers closed them out at the line.

Four Lakers were in double figures led by Chad Burridge with 23 points (9x17 fg, 2x4 3's 3x3 ft) Chris Gilkes had 15 pts (7x15 fg, 1x5 3's), Sean Michele scored 14 (3x5 fg, 3x5 3's 5x6 ft) and Hayden Ward had 11 pts (4x8 fg, 2x5 3's, 1x2 ft). Michele and Ward both had 4 assists and Michele pulled down a team high 5 rebounds. Lakers were 27x56 fg, 10x25 3's 10x13 ft. They were outrebounded by the Bombers 33-28 but only turned the ball over 8 times to 11 for Ithaca.

Bombers were led by Frank Mitchell who was the game's high scorer with 25 (11x16 fg, 1x2 3's, 2x4 ft). Andrei Oztemel had a double-double with 14 pts (4x12 fg, 2x6 3's, 4x4 ft) and 13 rebounds. Jordan Marcus had 11 pts (3x7 fg, 2x5 3's, 3x4 ft). Sean Rossi had 9 pts and 6 assists. Ithaca shot 22x56 fg, 10x25 3's and 10x13 ft.

Lakers take on Wells in a rematch of last years NCAA 1st round tournament game (won by the Lakers 64-58) at 6:00 PM tomorrow.
Ithaca plays Fredonia State at 2:00 PM tomorrow.

Still feeling the effects of the Cards close loss at Rochester. I said earlier I hoped we'd have a good showing, but to have the lead with 25 seconds left against the #7 ranked team on their court was more than I expected. Just sad to see the game end that way. Hopefully the players will learn from this and move forward. Tomorrow they take on Ursinus who got handled pretty easily by a good Keystone team 95-78. I like our chances against Ursinus. The players need to forget about tonight, go out and win one to make that long bus ride home after tomorrow's game an enjoyable one.

Cardinals were led tonight by Sophomore Shavar Fields who had a career best 25 points (11x16 fg, 2x3 3's, 1x1 ft). Senior Junghoon Roh also had a career high tonight scoring 12 points (5x6 fg, 1x1 3's 1x1 ft). Reggie Williams was the top rebounder for the Cards as he grabbed 10 boards. Plattsburgh shot 25x55 from the field but only 5x18 from the arc. However, they were outstanding from the charity stripe connecting on 13 of 14 attempts. Plattsburgh had 27 rebounds to 28 for Rochester and the Cards had 14 turnovers to 16 for the Yellowjackets.

Rochester was led by their preseason all american John Dibartolomeo with 22 pts (7x10 fg, 0x1 3's 8x11 ft) and 8 boards. Nate Vernon was perfect as he scored 14 points on 5x5 fg and 4x4 ft. Nate Novosel and Chris Dende both had 11 points. The Yellowjackets were 25x46 from the field, 6x13 3's and 18x30 from the line.

The ONLY thing Plattsburgh didn't execute was the box out on the 2nd foul shot (missed) by DiBartolomeo at the 15 seconds to go mark.  That foul call was bogus, as was the 5th foul on Shaver Fields.   Not sure what Curle said but the Zebra's called him for a Bench Tech.   A perfectly fine officiated game was ruined in the last 20 seconds.   Plattsburgh held it's own against larger players at each position.  DiBarolomeo didn't do much until the 2nd half.  U of R bigs aren't fast, don't jump high but they know how to work the paint and bang bodies. They also run their plays well and box out effectively.

Is it going to be another long winter for us Bears fans,  I truly wish to return to a bygone era, Instead I get sub 500 seasons, losses of almost 30 points and a schedule which avoids Maxcy/Jerry Welsh, One game doesn't make a season need to rebound and build from it,  Go Bears

Potsdam website says Bears beat So. Vermont 80-66, after trailing 34-31 at the half.

Williams live stats implementation is not impressive, bug-ridden and flaky.  Surprised given the elite nature of the host institution.

Will provide details when they become known.

Well, live stats showing Oswego losing to Wells 71-68 with 16 seconds left but the game hasn't even started yet. Apparently it's the Fredonia -Ithaca score, which jdex has already reported is a final 75-70.  Sure fooled me.
