magicman...I wonder how our record stacks up against Empire 8 and Liberty??
Massey has the E-8 at 21-15 and the Liberty League at 15-8.  And the NEAC at 8-32

Ethelred the ready....
Everytime I go to Massey it only gives me last seasons info. Can't seem to get D3 info for hoops current season. Only the D-1 info is current. Please help!!!

That's happened to me on occasion.  Now that I have it bookmarked it starts with DI but then using the drop down menu in the upper left I can choose any number of choices.  Try this link and change from "Main Group".

Opening night of SUNYAC conference games.

Buffalo St  at  Oneonta St 8 PM

16th ranked Bengals still haven't faced much competition as they bring their 3-0 record into conference play. Point spread has them favored by 13.5  against an Oneonta team that struggles on offense. The Red Dragons will have to play their best to keep it that close. They lost to # 14 Franklin & Marshall by 18 down there, perhaps at home they make it a little closer against a Bengal team that's probably as talented as F & M. But not that much closer. Bengals 84-68.

Plattsburgh St  at  Cortland St  8 PM

Always tough to predict my Cardinals because of where my loyalties lie. Point spread has these Red Dragons favored by 2. Both teams with comeback wins in their last contest on Tuesday night. Cards over SLU, Cortland over Ithaca. Plattsburgh looking for revenge as young Cortland team upset veteran Card team last spring in Plattsburgh. Tonight it's the younger Cardinals taking on a veteran Cortland team in their house. Can you say karma? My head says Red Dragons 68-62, but I'm going with my heart and taking the Cards 67-64.

Fredonia St  at  New Paltz St  8 PM

Undefeated Fredonia (whaaaat) brings their 5-0 record into Hawk Center and the oddsmaker have made them a 9 point favorite. They must know something I don't because I think that's too high. Blue Devils lofty record has come against 5 teams, none of which have a winning record and have combined for a 4-25 slate. Hawks have played 4 teams, none of which have a losing record and have combined for a 10-9 log. I'll go against the odds and say that Fredonia drops off the undefeated list tonight as the Hawks win a tight one 72-70.

Potsdam St  at Oswego St  8 PM

Lakers look to take up where they left off last year as they posted a 17-1 regular season mark (18-2 including playoffs). Hard to figure that a young Potsdam team can improve enough to knock off this veteran team. The point spread has the Lakers favored by 12 but they have struggled in all their games so far (Cobleskill blowout doesn't count ;D) winning 2 by 3 points and losing to SLU by 4. Oswego players may need some time to adjust to their new head coach. I think the Bears might keep it closer.  It depends on which Potsdam team shows up though. The one that beat Utica College on the road or the one that got handled by Salem St. and Clarkson. Bears will have trouble matching up with the Laker's All American (who won't?) as Burridge and company will be too much. Lakers win but it won't be easy (I hope)  70-63.

Geneseo  vs  Rochester Tech @ St John Fisher  6 PM

The Blue Knights hope to get off the schnied and avoid a sweep of teams named Rochester. They once again come in as underdogs as the line has RIT favored by 3. Their 0-4 record isn't as bad as it looks when you consider that 3 of those losses were to teams with a combined record of 15-1. RIT on the other hand has a 2-1 record but their 2 wins have been over teams that have yet to win a game and have a combined 0-12 record. Their loss was to a decent Nazareth team 72-66. I'm going with the Blue Knights on this one 69-66.

Brockport  vs  Hobart @ RIT's Clark Gym  6 PM

Brockport finally broke into the win column Wednesday night but they face a much tougher task tonight as they take on an undefeated Hobart team that has already trounced both Ithaca and St. John Fisher by 25 points. Statesmen are looking to make a statement this year as they missed out on the NCAA tourney last year when Hamilton upset them is the conference playoffs and they had to settle for the ECACs. Oddsmakers have made Hobart an 18 pt favorite. The Statesmen enter this game with 4 guys averaging double figures, led by their all conference forward Matt Pebole (16.3 ppg, 9.3 rpg). The Golden Eagles counter with 5 guys averaging double digits led by their all conference forward Kyheem Green (18.5 ppg, 12.5 ppg). The one common opponent is St. John Fisher and Brockport lost to them 82-81. That's tough to overlook. I hope I'm wrong on this one but I have to go with Hobart 83-77

magicman

Brockport scores with 3 seconds left to go up 70-69 on Hobart. Statesmen coach Mike Neer calls timeout and draws up an inbounds play that results in a long pass to Matt Pebole who scores a layup at the buzzer and sends the Golden Eagles to a crushing defeat, 71-70.

No live stats available as sidearm was showing a game between RIT and Western Ontario that took place on Nov. 15th. Tried accessing live stats from RIT's website as well as Brockport's and Hobart's. Same page kept coming up. Couldn't pull in the Brockport radio feed until about 2 minutes after the game was over. Caught a quick interview with Pebole and a short wrap-up decribing the winning basket.

Geneseo gets first win with 81-67 knockout of RIT

magicman

#3365
Geneseo St. lays it on RIT as they open up a 17 point halftime lead 44-27 then coast to a 81-67 win. Ryan Riefenhauser led 3 guys in double digits with 19 pts (7x11 fg, 5x8 ft) and just missed a double-double with 9 rebounds. Abe Miller added 16 pts (7x9 fg, 2x6 ft) and 5 boards. James McKenna added 13 pts (5x7 fg. 3x3 3's).
RIT led 1-0 and 3-2 but the Blue Knights scored 5 baskets in a row and it was quickly 13-3 with a little over 4 minutes into the period. They continued to expand their lead in the 2nd half and led by 23  with 17:34 to go. For the rest up the half they maintained a 20 point margin until the last several minutes when the Tigers closed to 14 with a couple of buckets in the final seconds.

Blue Knights shot 30x55 from the field (55%), 8x19 from 3 point land (42%) and 13x24 from the line (54%). They won the boards 30-26 and had 17 turnovers to 21 for the Tigers. RIT had 14 guys break into the scoring column but no one hit double digits. Brenden Harder, Nick Dobson and Jameel Balenton all had 8 pts for the Tigers. Live stats showing 26 total boards for the Tigers but individual stats only add up to 16 and they show their leading rebounder Harder with 0 boards.  Tigers shot 20x42 from the field (48%), 3x7 3's (43%) and 24x32 ft (75%).

Geneseo finally gets that elusive 1st win as they now are 1-4. They will face off against the winner of the St. John Fisher/Roberts Wesleyan game at 3 PM on Saturday afternoon at Roberts Wesleyan College.

Brockport will take on the loser of the Nazareth/Univ. of Rochester game at 3 PM on Sat. at RIT

edit at 8:51 to change who Geneseo and Brockport  will face on Saturday.
