Hamer hits 2 free throws and Oneonta misses a shot grabs the board anfd misses a 3 point attempt. Justin mitchell rebounds for Buff St is fouled and makes 1of 2 with 3 seconds left and the Bengals win it 80-76.

That big noise you just heard was Bengalsrule exhaling deeply. ;D

Buffalo State got way more than they bargained for against Oneonta tonight. Don't think they expected to get a down to the wire nailbiter. Red Dragons jumped out to a 7-0 lead and Bengals came right back to tie it at 7. Neither team could gain much of an advantage as there were 5 ties and 4 lead changes leading up to a Bengals 39-36 halftime edge. Oneonta opened the 2nd with 2 buckets in 20 seconds to regain the lead and the 2 teams just traded leads from that point on. There were 7 more lead changes and 6 ties leading up to the final 3 minutes when the Bengal's got their 6 point lead.

Bengal's Jake Simmons led all scorers with 27 pts 9x14 fg, 5x7 3's, 4x4 ft). He also had 5 rebounds 4 steals and 2 blocked shots. Justin Mitchell had 17 points (6x10 fg, 5x8 ft) with 5 boards and 5 steals. Ahmed Nagaya had a double-double of 10 pts (5x11 fg, 0x1 ft) and 12 rebounds (7 def, 5 off). Bengals were 30x60 fg (50%) 6x11 3's (54.5%), 14x23 ft (60.9%). They were beat off the boards by Oneonta 39-34 but the Red Dragons had 24 turnovers to 20 for Buffalo St.

Oneonta placed 4 players in double figures led by Kevin Donahue with 19 (7x11 fg, 5x6 3's, 0x1 ft). Nick Sarchioto had 17 pts (6x9 fg, 0x1 3's, 5x7 ft) with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Dan Lee added 12 pts and 4 boards, while Frankie Kelly had 10. Red Dragons shot 30x61 (49.2 %) from the field, almost identical to the Bengals. They were 7x15 from behind the arc (46'7%) and 9x17 from the line (52.9%).

Bengals move to 4-0 and take on New Paltz tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM in Hawk Center.

Oneonta falls to 1-4 and will host  Fredonia St. tomorrow at 4 PM.

Short on time today, will have to make these quick picks.

Plattsburgh at Oswego 4 PM
Pointspread has Lakers favored by 7 which is right where it should be. Cardinals keep it close but fall 76-70.

Buffalo St at New Paltz  4 PM
Always a high scoring game when these two get together pointspread has Bengals favored by 13. I Think the Hawks will keep it in single digits. Bengals win 88-79.

Potsdam at Cortland   4 PM
Red Dragons looking for the North Country sweep and after watching the Bears yesterday I think they get it. Oddsmakers have installed Cortland as a 10 point favorite and I'll run with that. Cortland wins 77-68.

Frerdonia at Oneonta 4 PM
Tough game to pick. Pointspread has Oneonta favored by 3. If Red Dragons play like they did against Buff St they'll win. I'm thinking they will so they're my pick 71-67.
