Thanks Hawk! I keep hearing how our video sucks (see magicman). I'm gonna let the A.D. know about the complaints that have been logged here. He actually checks out D3Hoops on occassion himself! jake and Rod do make a nice comboe. Reminds some folks of Jake Simmons and Chris Cartwright (both 1st team all-Sunyac 2010-11) from 2 years ago (Sweet 16 for the BENGALS). Rod is more of a shooter than Chris. Chris could shoot but could dish and kick with the best of them!

Good luck this weekend vs. Brockport and Geneseo!!

New poster on the 'YAC board - NP alum. Great to see all the commentary on the 'YAC boards - just thought you needed someone who isn't a Card or a Bengal posting on here.  :)

Just wanted to defend my Hawks who I think are underrated this season - yeah - they have some issues to work out - but Coach Rejniak has recruited a monster freshman class that just hasn't come into its own yet (see McCrae - moments of brilliance and then there was last night where he looked like a freshman). Rejniak had a team of 9 last year - after he lost a handful of players to disciplinary and academic issues. He's had some rebuilding to do - and he's getting the job done. Clearly the team has a lot of talent in Devine, Taylor and an underrated Jenkins - but they need to get better at playing as a unit on offense. Need to get the ball to Devine more often - the guy only had four shots last night in the 1st half. When these guys are on - they're great - they outscored Buff in the 2nd half last Saturday. They wouldn't quit last night. Just can't capitalize. Last year - those games are lost by 15+ even with Wichard.

Rejniak has scheduled a tough non-conference schedule - he's not padding his schedule - and it's the only way Hawks will improve to be able to compete with the big guys in the YAC.

Other key players to watch are freshman Roach and Pearlman who have been subbing at the #4 and #5 this year - two aggressive kids who will only improve. Junior Taylor Sowah and transfer Andrew Joseph show promise as well.

Hopefully they can put the pieces together for this weekend.

Fresh Blood!! I love it. 8-)  Welcome to the board hawkball.  Pay no attention to that Bengalsrule guy behind the curtain. ;) Hope you continue to be a regular contributor. If you have any questions concerning how the site operates and some of the features that can be utilized you can always contact one of the regulars using the Personal Messaging feature that D3hoops has in place. That way your questions aren't seen by the entire community. Just click on the person's name and hit send PM and you're in business. And if you're in town to see a game or whatever be sure and let us know. Let me be the 2nd person to give you a Plus K.

Tough loss last night, nearly came all the way back from the14 point deficit. Still early but the Hawks have a huge weekend coming up with Port and Geneseo coming to town. Good luck.

Hawkbill...let me be the first to welcome you to SUNYAC Boards. Good to have some Central NY flavor added. We already had  the North Country covered (Magicman and thebear), Syracuse area covered (JDEX and Dcahill) and Western NY covered ( :D ).

I need to give you a geography lesson. New Platz is closer to New York City than it is to Central New York. ??? Cortland and Oswego, now that's Central New York!! ;D   New Paltz...Southeastern New York.

Thanks for the heads up on the interview Fran. Coach Spanbauer did a fine job plugging our conference. 1 more win for number 300 for the coach.  I'm fairly confident he'll collect it tomorrow night against SUNYIT, with an 88-62 victory. Congratulations are in order.

Nine teams in action tonight in the SUNYAC. All games tip off at 8:00 PM.  Only Oswego State has the night off.

Cortland State at SUNYIT

Red Dragons and Wildcats have split their last 6 meetings but Cortland won by 30 last year. Teams headed in different directions as SUNYIT is winless and Corts enter at 5-1. Point spread has the Red Dragons favored by 19.5 but I don't think this one will be that close. Cortland players looking to present Coach Spanbauer with career win #300 and may top the century mark in doing so. I think the coach will go to his bench early and often though, and the final will be 88-62 Cortland.

Brockport State at New Paltz State

This game could turn out to be a difference maker in terms of who makes the conference tournament. With only 6 spots available this year I think one of these teams will be on the outside looking in. Both squads looking to even their record tonight and both coming off tough losses last time out. Golden Eagles dropped an 81-80 decision to Oswego and the Hawks comeback against Eastern Connecticut fell just short at 78-74. Brockport has won 4 straight in this series and 8 of the last 9. Posted line has the Eagles as a 2.5 point favorite and this game should be much closer than the 2 wins Brockport earned last year over the Hawks. Tough to win on the road in the YAC but Port has felt comfortable at Hawk Center. I think they edge Hawks here 78-75.

Geneseo State at Oneonta State

Geneseo with a big win against Cortland on Tuesday night to open their conference play. Should be able to withstand these other Red Dragons. Blue Knights are favored by 6.5 points. Oneonta in for another rough year, but has had some respectable outings despite their 1-5 record. I see Geneseo  winning this one 74-62.

Buffalo State at Potsdam State

Bengals bring their high powered offense into the North Country this weekend and look to solidify their 1st place conference position. Jake Simmons and Rod Epps have been on fire and I don't think the Bears will be able to cool them off. Bengals are averaging almost 90 ppg and this duo accounts for almost 50% of their scoring. Stop them and you've got a chance. Easier said than done. Potsdam has been wildly inconsistant in their 4 losses playing one good half of basketball only to get blown out by double digits in the other half. They need a complete game to have any hope of upsetting the Bengals. Spread has Buff State favored by 7.5 points. If Bear's Curtis Pierce, Mark Lake and Rob Duquette all show up tonight this game could be that close, but I think the Bengals will win by double digits...92-80.

Fredonia State at Plattsburgh State

Blue Devils come into tonight's game with a 4-3 record and tied with Plattsburgh at 1-1 in conference play. Their 4 wins are deceiving, as they came  against teams with a combined 1-22 record, with the lone win belonging to Oneonta. Plattsburgh enters tonights contest fresh off a road win at Little East power Keene State on Tuesday night. The Cardinals will not be taking the Blue Devils lightly however, as they swept the young Cardinals last season. Plattsburgh leads this series 7-5 over the past 6 years. The point spread has the Cards favored by 10.5 points. Cards giving up 67 ppg but against much tougher competition than Fredonia has faced. I think it's payback time for Plattsburgh and they win this one 77-63.

scooterman

Good morning everyone--Scooterman is back!! Magic- The Eagles have had their way with the Hawks for awhile and they certainly feel comfortable in the Hawks palace. I predict my Beloved Eagles coming away with a hug victory. Don't sell them short people--Coach Dunne will have them rock'n and rollin'--GO EAGLES-Make me proud! By the way, it's a beautiful 81 degrees in Tampa today.
