Medaille at Geneseo   7:00 PM

Geneseo has won their last 4 games, is currently sitting in 1st place in the Yac and is the only unbeaten team in the conference. They are looking to get a measure of revenge tonight as Medaille handed them a 76-56 trouncing last year to open the season. Medaille lost 4 starters off that team, while the Blue Knights only lost 1. The oddsmakers have made Geneseo a 12 point favorite. I think the Mavericks will keep it a little closer, but see the Blue Knights winning this one 77-69.


Plattsburgh State at #8 Franklin & Marshall   8:00 PM

The Cardinals have their work cut out for them if they want to start the New Year off with a win. Not only do they get one of the top ranked teams in the country, they have to play them after a 24 day layoff. In the past six years Plattsburgh has failed to win the first game back coming off the Christmas break.  I'll be surprised if tonight's any different. The Diplomats 8-1 overall, are a well balanced, big team and they don't lose too often (103-21 for the past 4 years) and losses at home are nearly nonexistent. Pointspread shows this to be a very close game with the Diplomats favored by 2 points. I hope the Cards can break their jinx and win one coming back from a layoff. I don't think they will but I'm picking them anyways. Somehow, someway, they pull this one out and steal one from the home team. Cardinals 70 Diplomats 67.

Eastern Connecticut is killing Salisbury 55-33 with 14:19 left in the 2nd half, of the first game at the F & M tournamnet. I'm hoping Plattsburgh gets to play Eastern Connecticut in tomorrow's game but it looks like we'll have to beat Franklin & Marshall to do so.

Eastern Connecticut was all over Salisbury and ended up winning 75-55.

Plattsburgh not looking too good as they trail Franklin & Marshall 39-20  at the half. Plattsburgh is shooting poorly (8x21) committing too many turnovers (11 already) and letting F & M's big man Hayk Gyokchyan have his way with us. He's already got 26 points killing us inside and outside (he's 4x5 from downtown). Unless Coach Curle can come up with one heckava halftime talk, the Cardinals will end up losing this one by 30 or more. Team is looking lost on the offensive end and overmatched on the defensive end. Cards are still on vacation. Someone needs to tell them it's time to get to work!! I've seen this too often after the Christmas break. Was hoping this year would be different.

I know all about GYOKCHAN. He was the big man on my NCAA Fantasy team last year when no one knew who he was and everybody thought I misspelled his name when I drafted him. He carried my team for quite a while. He was good then, and he's that much better now. 6'7" and he thinks he'sRay Allen with his three point shooting !!. We should have been all over him from the git go. I was afraid he was going to kill us and he did....from the moment the game started. He hit double figures so fast my head was spinning.
