7, is your video breaking up?

Mine broke up for a couple minutes, went over to the Augie Wheaton game, and when I came back it was fine.

Thanks 7, mine would break up,  then be normal for a very short time and then break up again. That process kept repeating throughout the 2nd half. The first half was fine though.

Just finished watching Super Bore XLVIII as so many of them are.    Instead, I'll take Plattsburgh State vs Buffalo State, or Plattsburgh State vs Brockport State where it's a good game, everytime. 8-) ;D

I know my Buffalo friend liked the Seahawks... I hope he had a few coins on them. ;)

My 2-2 numbers I had in the superbowl pool at least gave me a little hope when the safety occurred on the 1st play from scrimmage. :o Alas it was not to be. :P A second 2 was to much to ask for. :(

Yes your friend had a few bucks on Seattle and I enjoyed the game!  The seahawk fans looked like they were outnumbered by Broncofans but they were twice asxliud as Bronci fans!! And as the game grew on, they got LOUDER. Unfortunately after the game a major transport snafu took place.  Such that I am now just leaving MetLife after being stuck 2 hours because none if the trains were moving.  My sis , brother and I actually went back I dude and sat in the Chase Club, which resembled JFK airport on a night when all the flights were cancelled. Folks sitting in the floor any and everywher( even outside the bathrooms).  You can be sure that Ny/Nj won't be hosting any ire SuoerBowls in our lifetime . I feel sorry fir the folks who got in live as the game ended thinking that they would be buarding a train inky to have to stand, outside, for over 90 minutes.   And those who had children. My prayers go out to you! Typing on my phone is rough so please excuse any typos!!!

Back to Buffalo tommorrow morning and getting geared up for New Paltz and Oneonta!

Go BENGALS!!

You're not the one that needs to get geared up for this weekend. It's the 14 young men on the Buffalo State roster that need to do that. You tell Justin and the boys that if they don't win both games this weekend I'm going to give all my Buffalo State gear away. :-[

I guess the Bport Eagles aren't just the "Ivy and Caruthers gang."They have some real "hombres to add to the posse." Way to go Eagles--Just keep that train moving forward!!!

You are right there Scooter.  The Eagles play at least 10 every game. After the Bengals went up 10-2 during thier visit to Brockport, Dunne brought in a whole new 5 and they didn't miss a beat. U must admit though, having Ivy and Carruthers on your team ain't a bad thing!

Pep got a kick out of that, only because it stirred to memory commentators' remarks during Alfred-Stevens and Alfred-Utica recent webcasts. When Wellman pulled all the "starters" 3 or 4 minutes into the game, the commentator said, "Must be Coach Wellman saw something he didn't like from his starters."

Likewise, the Utica Pioneers were in the bonus just six or eight minutes into the game...and the commentator mentioned that the Saxons "were already in foul trouble" yet no one on the team had more than a foul or two!"

Coach Wellman's new systematic approach to the game is heretofore unknown to most E8 fans. If you check the Alfred stats, there's only one player who scores more than 10 points a game, and he averages 13.7 points per game, not a whole lot for a team that ranks second in the nation for scoring, around 100 points a game. But there's a slew of players averaging 5, 6, 7 or 8 points.

When Ryan Mahon hit the game-winning trey at the buzzer at Utica Friday night, the entire bench cleared and 21 players ended up tackled by his teammates at the far corner of the gym (see video link)....funny thing is, it was Mahon that night, but it could have been any one of them. Pep would love to play on a team like that, win or lose.

Getting their points from a lot of different players as Alfred does is a sign of depth and sharing the ball. Plattsburgh State has a statistic that I don't think many teams in any division can claim. Eight different players have led the team in scoring this season. Most schools have 2 or 3 players who consistently, night after night, grab the game's scoring honors. Some teams have enough depth that 4 or 5 players are the high men on any given night, but to have 8 different players do that in the course of season is a statistic you won't find very often.

Here's another stat that is a bit out of the ordinary, at least for the SUNYAC. There are only 33 teams in Division 3 that have 3 or less losses. Three of those 33 teams are in the YAC. They are, along with their D3hoops ranking,  #20 Brockport State 16-1, #37 Geneseo State 14-3, and #45 Plattsburgh State 15-3.

After Geneseo's loss to Brockport on Saturday, they may get a little less love and Plattsburgh, after another unbeaten week, may get a little more love, in the Top 25 poll that will come out later today. I expect Brockport will move up a few more spots, maybe into the top 15.

Massey's Ratings currently have Brockport ranked at #6, Plattsburgh at #18, and Geneseo at #37.

A big week upcoming for the Cardinals as Plattsburgh will face both of these other teams on the road this weekend. First up is a Friday night game at Brockport and then a Saturday afternoon matchup at Geneseo.

Alfred will have a similar big weekend Feb. 7-8. If the Saxons (14-4, 5-2 E8) can get a win at Elmira Tuesday (Feb. 4), they will still be tied in the loss column with the front-runners Stevens (14-5, 8-2 E8) and Hartwick (13-7, 8-2 E8), who appear at McLane Center Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Pep is hoping that the Ducks knock off Williams (16-3, 5-1 NESCAC) tomorrow night at the Canavan Arena so they'll be flying high when they arrive in Saxonville Friday. Saxons will need to brush up on their marksmanship for Friday's Duck Hunt. And gee whiz, while the Saxons are hunting fowl, the Hawks will be here on Saturday! A 3-0 week would have the Saxons in first place in the E8....hey, Pep can dream, can't he?

On Saxon Warriors!

7,
Not sure what you're asking me,but i doubt if I would mind. Spread picks on what?

7express

How you do YAC picks, you put a spread total on it.  Here I'll give an example from your New Paltz/Potsdam preview from over the weekend: "The points spread favors new Paltz by a 7 point margin"
and another from Oswego/Buffalo state "Despite that the oddsmakers have made the Bengals a very slight 2 point favorite."

I was going to put odds, probably a better word, on the LEC picks.

Here's my post from earlier this afternoon.

The Top 25 for Week #9 has been released and as I mentioned in my post above Brockport has moved into the Top 15. Their point total increased from 140 to 241, a healthy gain, as they jumped over the following 5 teams....#13 SUNY-Purchase, #14 Augustana, #16 Albertus Magnus, #18 Wittenberg, and #19 Bowdoin.

After Brockport beat Plattsburgh on Jan 11th, I've been emailing Coach Dunne to predict what the Golden Eagles would do between Jan 11th and February 6th.  I correctly told him they would go 3-0, 3-0, and 2-0 over the next 3 weeks and would crack the Top 25 in week 7, move up some in week 8 and move up some more in week 9. My hope was that Brockport was high enough in the Top 25 Poll so that when my Cardinals show up on Feb 7th, if we win that game, they will still continue to be ranked and quite possibly my Cardinals might get ranked as well. So far everything has went according to plan. (Well almost...see the comment below)

Geneseo also had a gain in their point total as they went from 6 to 12 points and moved up from #37 to #35. I thought the voters might drop them with the loss to Brockport on Saturday but taking the Golden Eagles to overtime on the road shouldn't (and apparently wasn't) held against them.

A little surprised that Plattsburgh State lost what little love they had (1 point) and failed to impress the voters after another undefeated week. They stretched their winning streak to a season high 7 games over the weekend. They own a head to head victory over Geneseo, have a better SOS than the Knghts do, and have better out of conference wins than Geneseo  The Cardinals don't have a bad loss among their 3 setbacks and as I mentioned earlier are one of only 33 teams with 3 losses or less in D3. Maybe after this weekend if  Plattsburgh goes 2-0 again they will get some recognition. I certainly think they should be in the ORV category of the Top 25 poll at the very least.

For the time being I'll have to be content with Mr. Massey's rankings, that have my Plattsburgh State Cardinals at #18 in the country.
