Geneseo-Bport game will be a another classic. The Eagles will try to uptempo them as much as possible, but Geneseo is very good at getting back in transition and keeping composure. The Eagles must have Ivy continue his aggressive style, but need to get more consistent scoring out of Carruthers, Lee, and the freshman, Liverly. If they play that solid D and keep the penetration out of the middle of the court; it should be a nice win for the Bport crew. A win here will put them in sweet position to host!!! Go EAGLES!!!

When Coach Dunne sees that you called Clifton Lyerly, his star freshman....Liverly, he will probably no longer admit that he knows you. ;D I'm surprised you didn't think his complete name was Chicken Liverly...I mean if you can get Lyerly to Liverly it's not that big a  reach to get Clifton to Chicken. ;D

Bengalsrule,

I know that the tiebreaker goes down the standings from best record on down but in the case I was putting forth... the two teams were tied all the way down because the only other losses they had were a season split against Plattsburgh. They both are 1-1 against the Cardinals. If they both end up 16-2 then what are the other tiebreakers? The YAC doesn't want us to know apparently.

LOL- Thanks Magic--should have previewed my post--Anyway, the Eagles need him to be a more consistent scorer against the Knights. I think the pressure D with "Poison Ivy and all the vines" will be too much for the Knights to cut through tomorrow. Port by 4--You like that one!!!!!

NYHOOPS8

Luckily for the SUNYAC, the LL and E8 don't have any teams who can contend to be in the top 3 of the East Region. Dreams of a 3 bid league are still alive.

thebear

from the SUNYAC manual:

2.4.14.2.2.4 - If a multiple team tie can't be determined after head to head and
record against opponents in descending order.

Overall Conference road record will be used as the next tie breaker.

Geneseo has two road losses '@Plattsburgh, @ Brockport.  Brockport has none, their only loss is at home to 'burgh; so even if Geneseo wins @ Brockport, Brockport is the top seed.

If that still does not break the tie, a coin flip will
take place. If the contains 3 or more teams, each team will flip a coin. The team
that has a different side than the other teams will be slotted in the lowest seed.
This will continue until there are 2 teams left, then a normal coin flip will occur.

Thanks Bear, I had a feeling you might know what the tiebreaker rules are. Now how does one go about finding a link to the SUNYAC manual you're quoting the rules from? I clicked on "About SUNYAC" on the YAC website. That produces a drop down menu and one of the choices is Championship Manuals. Clicking on that link gives you nothing except "You are trying to access protected content. Please log in below", at which point a password is required.    WHY?

Im gonna go on a little rant right here. I think the SUNYAC is the best conference THIS year. But the Empire 8 has a case to say they are close to the SUNYAC this year. I mean Top to Bottom. Its not any easier to win games in the SUNYAC than the E8. Utica (last place team in E8) beat Cortland who is a top 6 team in the SUNYAC. People say Geneseo, Plattsburgh, Brockport are so good cause of theyre record. Which I agree they are very good teams. But Naz, Alfred, Stevens, Fisher, Hartwick are all good teams. Fisher beat Geneseo by 8! Because the Empire 8 has more losses couldn't it mean the E8 is a tougher conference top to bottom? Not saying It is but its up for Argument. SUNYAC has 3 really good teams. Then there is a drop off. Oswego is good. Cortland wasn't very impressive I don't think this year. Oneonta I don't think is great either. On the SUNYAC side, Oneonta did beat Fisher, Buff State beat Fisher. RANT ENDED. Oswego beat Hartwick by 2. SUNYAC 7-5 against Empire 8.

Arguing both sides in the same paragraph?!?!?!  Reminds me of an old sociology professor who used to say " some say yes, some say no. I tend to agree"  ;)

New rankings and just as the Magic 1 predicted, Brockport stayed in the top 20 (19th). Geneseo is ranked at 31 (21 votes) and Plattsburgh at 36 ( 8 votes). 3 Sunyac teams in the top 40 of d3hoops !!!! Not bad. A 3 bid conference if ever there was 1! Especially if a dark horse wins it all!! ;)

In order for that dark horse to win it all...they first have to make sure they are IN the playoffs. ???

No love for the E8. Too much parity. And anyone who's followed the Empire 8 over the years and, seeing Alfred knocking off Stevens and Hartwick back-to-back, must assume the Empire 8 is down this year.  That very well could be true. Or, it could mean that Alfred is up this year!  ;)
