Interesting that you have Oswego and Brockport 1-2 without seeing their 2015-16 roster. Maybe you know something that I don't know!!

I know that Oswego returns everybody off last year's SUNYAC Champs except Rashawn Powell. I think they will be better than they were last year. Coach Leone won with former Coach, Adam Stockwell's players. Now he's won with his own recruits.

Brockport also returns a ton of talent, including their entire starting 5, their top 8 players and 10 of 11 guys that averaged double digit minutes last year. Most importantly they have Coach Dunne back and he'll be out to prove that his Coach of the Year award, 2 years ago, was no fluke.

And I'd be surprised if you didn't know that. But if you didn't...now you do. ;D

P.s Your women's soccer team is heading to Buff State for the semi finals this Weds. Something tells me that you will be watching the game via your LARGE SCREEN T.V.! I'll be sure to wave (or find your Plattsburgh State commentators, if they make the trip)

I may be home watching that game and the Men's soccer game at Oneonta at the same time. But I may be on the golf course playing a round of golf with Coach Curle since Indian Summer has decided to visit the North Country this week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all expected to be in the high 60's and low 70's. Need to golf when you can, these late fall days. :)

P.s. no more watching at the "Music Shop"? I cant believe that Time Warner plowed a 12 mile passage to your property  ::) ::)?

You are right Time Warner didn't plow a 12 mile passage to me, however Charter Communications bundled my phone, cable and high speed internet service and ran a line about a 1000 feet long from the road I live on to my house which is set back from that road quite a ways. I've been waiting since 1984 for someone to do that. They finally stepped up to the plate in July of 2014 and told me I'd have cable and internet service by November 2014. Complications turned up and it was March of this year before it actually happened. Now I can sit at home in my recliner and bring up 5 windows (or more if needed) on my computer, on game nights, when the Cardinals are on the road and watch the entire SUNYAC conference on my big screen TV. No more late nights for me in the office of The Music Shop, on the computer there, because that's the only place I could get high speed internet. Technology has finally arrived at the home of the magicman. :o

You must  not have considered 2014-15 starting pg Aaron White as a "starter -3rd on team in scoring and assists". He is no longer at Brockport. I imagine that there may be other surprises when their roster is posted. Just thought I'd share before you fall head over heels about a roster that might not exist the way you think it will exist, and making predictions based on that "faulty" info. Remember this is D3 hoops!!

Cortland took down Quebec-Montreal 79-58 in Monday exhibition with veteran cast and apparently one major addition -- 6-5 transfer J.P. Reagan, three-year starter at RIT. Reagan a Cortland native. Made Liberty League All-Frosh squad and was second team all-LL as soph when leading the Tigers in scoring at 14ppg on 16-9 outfit. Averaged 10.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg starting every game last winter when RIT split 26 contests. Strong outside shooter. Came off the bench Monday for seven points (1x1 3s) and four boards in 20 minutes.

RDragons (33x64fg, 10x21 3s) started returnees G. Carter (8pts, 6rebs, 5assts in 28'), sr. B. Estarfaa (last season's No. 2 scorer), S. Martinez. J. Morales, and 6-6 soph C. Joseph (10pts, 19'). Vet playmaker T.J. Hefele saw duty along with M. Kelly as skipper T. Spanbauer deployed squad of 15. Not seen was J. Prendergast, 6-7 frosh revelation last season whose leading scorer L. Herron and pivot M. McGowan departed. Corts 17-8 (10-8) in '14-15 and debut Nov. 14 at Utica

Appreciate the heads up Jdex...especially since Spanbauer still has last years roster posted!  >:( Should have known that he wasn't gonna stand pat!!   ;)

Continuing on the Cortland hopes ......

Sophomore import Zach Lydon, 6-9 transfer from LIU (4x8fg, 2x2 3s, 4reb, 1blk in 15' of Monday exhibition). Remember the name. Sees little action at D1 LIU, but a player! From quite the large (in more ways than one) athletic family, including younger brother Tyler Lydon AT SYRACUSE, who impresses earlier this week in 22' stint during Orange exhibition vs. LeMoyne. There are other younger Lydons. Mom Sue was thousand point scorer at Dutchess County CC. She and the family plan on plenty of Syracuse/Cortland visits.

Also at Cortland is Oswego transfer Justin Cooper who sees 10' court time Monday. Cooper was Lydon teammate at Pine Plains HS and promising frosh at Oswego last season till sidelined by broken foot.  Stay tuned ......

Oswego State posted their roster and while I noticed that several players from last year are not on the roster, all 4 starters from last year that didn't graduate are back. Of the players that could have returned, but didn't,  only one, 5'9" reserve guard Ian Schupp, had meaningful minutes (16 mpg, 5.2 ppg). So 8 of their top 10 players return, with starter Rashawn Powell, who was a senior last year the only loss through graduation.

The BIG surprise was the addition of forward Mykelle Krecko. Krecko could very well be the tallest player in the SUNYAC this season as he is a 6'10" 215 pound rebounding machine. Krecko played for Clinton Community College, here in Plattsburgh, 2 years ago and I was hoping he might transfer over to Plattsburgh State last year. Instead he went to DII Le Moyne College in Syracuse. Now he shows up on Oswego's roster. He appears in the team photo of Le Moyne's 2014-15 roster but his name has been deleted and he doesn't show up in their stat sheet from last year so I'm guessing he never played a minute for the Dolphins. (injury perhaps?) Oswego lists him as a junior so it would appear he has 2 years of eligibility left. At Clinton in 2013-14 Krecko averaged a double-double and the Clinton Cougars had one of the best years in school history. He routinely put up 15 to 20 points, with 15 to 20 rebounds and 4 to 8 blocks per game.

This is a write up from January 21, 2014 when he made the Athletes of the Week in the NJCAA Region III:

"Krecko led the Cougars to a 4-0 week averaging 22 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 blocks per game.  Over the weekend he helped lead the team to wins at #9 nationally ranked Mohawk Valley CC and Jefferson CC.  In the win at Mohawk Valley he scored 20 points on 10-11 shooting with 19 rebounds and 6 blocks.  He followed that against JCC with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 blocks."

It would appear that the rich...just got richer. I had Oswego pegged as the preseason favorite to win the SUNYAC. With the addition of Krecko I'll be surprised if anyone can take them down. Perhaps Cortland with their new additions, especially the 6"9" DI transfer mentioned by jdex, will have a shot at doing so.

Quick note - Lydon played at Div. II LIU-Post, not Div. I LIU-Brooklyn.

Thanks for the correction Fran. Must have been some wishful thinking by our friend, jdex. Doesn't matter where Mr. Lydon came from, at 6'9" along with his stats in last week's exhibition, he looks like a fine addition to the Red Dragon's roster.

I'll agree to that first long which will get them to 11-0, but have to hope that the undefeated string comes to an end on 1-15-16. I'm sure you can figure out who they play on that night. ;)

jdex

Wishful thinking? Don't think so. At 6-9 and a player with 3-point range and a rebounder playing at D3 level following brief D2 stay.

And don't sleep on returning 6-6 C. Joseph either. Import J.P. Reagan of already known 6-5 quality. Also believe J. Prendergast in school. Awaiting roster

Appears RDragons could go big or small with quality. Yes, appears .........still to be determined .....but wishful thinker we are ....

Or even possibly 12/4-5th??

Yes, the 6-7, 220 returning soph J. Prendergast is listed on the now posted Cortland roster. A force as last season went along ....

Only mentioned the wishful thinking remark in regard to post that Zach Lydon was a DI transfer from LIU, when he's actually a DII transfer from LIU-Post. Still, appears to be a player with game.

In reality, Coach Spanbauer appears to have positioned the Red Dragons for a major assault on the SUNYAC title, yet again. So no, I don't consider anything else that can be gleaned from your posts as wishful thinking. More like the old ELP recording...."Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends".  ;)
