Looks like someone has a new toy or gained a new skill.....color posts.  The yellow/ gold is hard to read though ;D.

2 weeks with no (BENGALS) games is rough. In 3 more days I'm gonna know the shoe size, and favorite color, of everyone on the NJ City roster. Wait till you see what I have planned for next week (did someone say "mixing colors???")!  Magicman used to tutor me    :)....now he just corrects me :-[

;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Did you know that....

....the top 3 free throw shooters in the 'Yac all come from GENESEO??

1.   Kevin Crockett (SUNY Geneseo)   7   17   17   1.000
2.   John Decker     (SUNY Geneseo)     5   33   37   .892
3.   Justin Ringen    (SUNY Geneseo)   7   26   30   .867

Just when I thought I was getting bored. D3hoops post this today in their "Rolling around the nation" segment!!

You can read the whole article here     http://www.d3hoops.com/columns/around-the-nation/index        however the last 5 sentences about the "Featured team of the day" reads...    "NJCU's seven-game winning streak is the longest since winning seven straight from January 23 to February 13, 2013. The last time NJCU had a streak longer than seven straight was nine straight from January 24 to February 14, 2011. NJCU won the NJAC championship that season. NJCU is 7-2 to start a season for the first time since opening the 2011-12 season at 9-1 overall.
The Gothic Knights will play Buffalo State in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Lehman".
[/i]

Consider me no longer bored. Lets see Wosu's shoe size is 13 1/2 and favorite color is green...Harris' shoe size is 11 1/2 and..... nevermind!!! ;)

SUNYAC is looking completely wide open with what i believe is the top 7 teams. Oswego, Geneseo, Buff State, Oneonta, Plattsburgh, Brockport, and Cortland. I believe all of these teams are capable of winning the league. I have been really impressed with Geneseo, Oswego, Brockport, Buff State and Oneonta in particular. Oswego is 8-1 right now playing a loaded schedule on the road and not playing anywhere near there best basketball. I think you can credit that to the experience and talent level of the Lakers. I watched Geneseo play twice and i believe they are a top 2-3 team in the league with transfer John Decker and Justin Ringen who are averaging well over 20ppg. I also watched Brockport absolutely man handle St John Fisher during the Wendys Classic. Oneonta has what i think will be 3 really good wins at the end of the year Fisher, Williams, and Hartwick. They are really talented and scoring a ton of points. Brockport has a lot of talent and return a big guy from last season after the break. Buff State has plenty of wins at 5-2 so far beating Alfred, Oswego, Naz, and Hobart. I think Naz and Alfred will be better wins by the end of the year but Buff State has been impressive as well so far. I heard Plattsburgh is loaded with talented as well as Cortland but have not seen much of those two teams.

Did you know........

SUNY Brockport will play 7 games in 2015 and all of them will be away games. Their first home game won't be to Jan 5th 2016......vs Buffalo State :o

People on this website who pay close attention will note that someone already mentioned that fact about a month ago. ;D

Brockport overpowers St. Lawrence 81-57  as they open their season with a win on the road. The Golden Eagles will need to do a lot of winning on the road if they hope to have a decent campaign this year especially in the non-conference portion of their schedule. They will (barring a home contest in the Wendy's tournament) play all 7 of their non-conference games on the road. They won't see their home fans until January 5th, but if they play like they did today, it should be quite a homecoming. St. Lawrence now falls to 0-2 in the SUNYAC  and will meet Plattsburgh on 12-1 before they finish their annual tour of SUNYAC schools against Potsdam State on 12-12. Last year they went 1-3 in their 4 YAC games so they will have to beat the Cardinals in Plattsburgh if they want to improve on that 2014-15 record.

The Golden Eagles looked better against SLU than Oswego did last week. I'm thinking that no one should be giving the Lakers a free pass to the conference title because Brockport will certainly have a lot to say about that.

Brockport was led tonight by the hot hand of returning All Conference selection Clifton Lyerly. LYerly pumped in 26 points, scoring in a variety of way with jumpers, drives, free throws and 3 pointers. He was 10-17 from the field, 2x2 from behind the arc and 4x4 from the line. Close behind was Hamed Shamseldin who tossed in 20 points, with 16 of them coming in the first half. He may not have started but he played more minutes, 25,  than all the starters except  Lyerly, who was on the floor for 30 minutes. Matt Smith also hit double figures with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. David Clark only had 3 points but he captured rebounding honors for the game with 9 boards. Ismael Pierre was right behind him with 8 rebounds. Brockport outshot the Saints, outrebounded them 39-30 and committed only 14 turnovers to 21 for SLU. Port scored 25 points off turnovers to a measley 2 points that SLU got off TO's. All in all a pretty convincing win over a team that was picked to finish 2nd in the Liberty League.

The Larries were led by 13 points from Dom DeRegis, who was the only SLU player to score in double figures. Freshman Ben Crawford was next  with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

St. Lawrence, now 0-2, will resume play this weekend when they travel to Buffalo to take on Medaille College at 5 PM on Friday evening in the Mavericks tournament. They will face off against Baldwin-Wallace or Middlebury on Saturday afternoon.

Brockport 1-0, is off until November 24th when they will travel south to Long Island to take on the Farmingdale Rams at 5:00 PM.

One overlooked factor in today's game against SLU is that Brockport was missing their leading scorer from last season, All Conference  senior guard/forward, Patrick Modzelewski. How good will the Golden Eagles be when they factor him back into the rotation?

For Magicman, the answer to "Did you know?" Is always: "of course I did!"  :) ;D

Wow Magicman. What took you so long to respond :) ? I was sure you would have seen that post 5 mins after I put it up. Glad to see I got your attention!  I imagine that there will be some posts/predictions from you today. This board has been pretty empty this week ( other than dacahill monthly cameo)!

What am I, chopped liver??  :D ;) ;D

Actually, I haven't added anything informational to the board yet. I keep saying I'll make the effort to pay more attention to the bball but it has yet to really happen.

Far from it PG. I was just commenting on how little activity has been on the boards this week, Other than dcahill comments yesterday, itas been pretty slow this week. And dcahill usually visits here 1 or 2 time a year, (unless Naz is doing really good). I know that the O W M 1 lives to correct my posts so I figured that I'd give him something similar to what he posted earlier, as a way to get him back to the boards! And it worked!!!  No Buff State games for 2 weeks is killing me,  however I can at least tune in this weekend to some Plattsburgh/Cortland action!

Yeah unfortunately we're already in the lull over on the football pages, for the most part. I've been posting in many different regions to get my fix.

Why would I be on here today with predictions?  Is there some games today that are posted on a schedule somewhere that only you have access to?  ??? I'll let you predict the outcome of today's games, since I must have missed the boat on those. ;D

You must really be bored. ???  Some of us actually have a business to run and there are times (like Christmas) when some of us are busy.

Forget the shoe sizes of the New Jersey City players, you need to find out the exact distances each one of their 3 point shooters like to fire them up from. Especially the J&J boys...Jalen Harris and James Julius. So get your ruler out and start measuring while you're looking at that game tape. I heard some of those 3 pointers come from way downtown.  Remember the NJ City coach was called Marc "Showbiz" Brown for a reason, back in his playing days at Siena College, because he put on quite a show. Especially in 1989 when #14 seed Siena beat #3 seed Stanford behind Brown's 32 points. And he loved to hoist them up from beyond the arc. I'm sure he passes that love onto his players. So get busy!!
