Wow Magicman. What took you so long to respond :) ? I was sure you would have seen that post 5 mins after I put it up. Glad to see I got your attention! I imagine that there will be some posts/predictions from you today. This board has been pretty empty this week ( other than dacahill monthly cameo)!

Why would I be on here today with predictions?  Is there some games today that are posted on a schedule somewhere that only you have access to?  ??? I'll let you predict the outcome of today's games, since I must have missed the boat on those. ;D

"Posts/predictions".  Sooo no posts of any sorts? Oops you already have!! ;)  It worked!!

You must really be bored. ???  Some of us actually have a business to run and there are times (like Christmas) when some of us are busy.

Forget the shoe sizes of the New Jersey City players, you need to find out the exact distances each one of their 3 point shooters like to fire them up from. Especially the J&J boys...Jalen Harris and James Julius. So get your ruler out and start measuring while you're looking at that game tape. I heard some of those 3 pointers come from way downtown.  Remember the NJ City coach was called Marc "Showbiz" Brown for a reason, back in his playing days at Siena College, because he put on quite a show. Especially in 1989 when #14 seed Siena beat #3 seed Stanford behind Brown's 32 points. And he loved to hoist them up from beyond the arc. I'm sure he passes that love onto his players. So get busy!!

That's the Magicman that we all love in WNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I got to make it a point to stop at the Music Shop next time I'm in Plattsburgh. I hear that the owner there is a big Hoops fan....too!!

Prepare for their 3 pt shooters?  Good advice there OWM1!!  Fortunately my BENGALS, and your cards, are in probably 1 of the best 3 pt shooting conferences around. There are some serious sharpshooters in the 'yac ( see below) so facing them should help my BENGALS. I will pass this insight on to Coaches Glover and Gross though!

"below"  are comparisons between the 2 sharpshooters from New jersey City and some of the Yac's best that we all see week in and week out. Go 'Yac!!

Blair Esterfaa (SUNY Cortland)       7 games   25    makes    54    Attempts      .463%
                                              Vs
Jalen Harris    (NJCU)                 9 games     22 makes       53 attempts        .415%

Justin Ringen (SUNY Geneseo)         7     games          27   makes    48    attempts      .563%
                                             Vs
James Julius    (NJCU)                     9 games            17 makes    45 attempts         .378%

One might argue that my BENGALS did not do a good job against Esterfaa 3 weeks ago (5 of 11 from beyond the arc), plus Reagan hit a game winning 3  :-[ , but I believe that the BENGALS will work harder in NYC when it ciomes to getting out there on their shooters. Clearly NJCU has a complete team (inside and out). But more talk about that next week!

That was clearly the reason for my post. Your guys need to do a better job defending the 3 pointer. 13 given up in that Cortland game, 11 in your other loss. You can beat this team, if and it's a big if.... you play better defense.

MMMM  Sounds like a upcoming prediction that might not bode well for my BENGALS. :o  Nuff said!!! ;)

My predictions do not determine the outcome of the games. Only the players and how they perform on the court can do that. If I pick against your Bengals (and I haven't made a decision on which team I think will win this game, yet) then they need to prove me wrong, which of course, I always hope they do. :)

All-Time

I like Plattsburgh today over Stevensen .  I hope the Cardinals are a full strength today and get back on the winning track.
I also like Cortland over SUNYIT.

Two games involving SUNYAC teams today, December 19th

Stevenson  vs  Plattsburgh State     2:00 PM   Holiday Shootout @ Florida Christian School (Miami, Fla.)

The Cardinals are coming off their worst loss in quite some time and will hopefully be at full strength today against the Stevenson Mustangs. The Mustangs are out of the Middle Atlantic Conference-Commonwealth Division and come into this game with a somewhat disappointing 3-5 record. This team was 21-9 last season and won an ECAC South Championship. They had a number of returning rotation players and I expected them to be in the hunt in their conference. Despite their record the Mustangs are a decent team and this should be a competitive contest. The oddsmakers have the Cardinals favored by a 7 point margin and that seems to be about right. I think the Cardinals take this one by a 78-70 final score.

SUNY-Poly  at  Cortland State        2:00 PM

Formerly known as SUNYIT this is the other Utica school that has often given the Red Dragons a battle. The Wildcats have managed to win 2 games in the past 5 years against Cortland so nothing is a given in this contest. Having said that however, Cortland should take care of business today as the point spread favors the Red Dragons by a 17 point margin. I'll be surprised if the Wildcats can keep it that close. I'm taking Cortland to win this one by an 85-65 final score.

Cortland at its Corey Gym taking down SUNY Poly 47-29 at the half. Shooting 60 percent from the field (18x30, 3x10 3s). G. Carter with 11 pts, JP Reagan 9 pts (4x5fg, 1x2 3s) and 5 rebs in 10' off the bench. M. Kelly adds 7 pts (3x3fg) in 7' of reserve duty. B. Estarfaa 8 pts. R. Dragons up late 45-25. Poly 11x29fg led by spare P. Griffiths 10 pts

Plattsburgh leads Stevenson 35-33 at the half.

Cards go up 35-28 with 3:07 to play on a layup by Magic Grigg but the Cards commit 3 fouls, miss 3 shots and turn the ball over which results in no more points on the board and allows the Mustangs to close within 2 points at the break.

Jon Patron leads Plattsburgh with 15 points on 6 of 10 from the field. Kyle Richardson and Xavier Thomas both have 7 points, while Richardson already has 9 rebounds.

Erik Fisher leads the Mustangs with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Sean Mayberry has 10 and Christian Roberts has 8.

Live video for the Plattsburgh-Stevenson game is all screwed up. About 8 minutes into the game all these apps came on the video screen and reduced the video to about the size of an inch and a half screen. Full screen you can get it to about a 2 inch square. Really sucks as I was hoping to watch the game on a decent video feed.

Ugh. That's really annoying. It also says Stevenson vs. SUNY. Hopefully it just cut off the actual school or else Stevenson is facing lots of schools at once.  ;D

Cortland rolls past Utica's SUNY Poly 77-64 at home. In command from midway through the first half which winds up 47-29. RDragons by 28 points at 75-57 with 7:45 left. Sixteen Corts in pretty extensive work. Poly employs its eight.

CSt hits 51 percent from the field after a 60 percent first half. Poly at 41 percent for the contest.
