Not a regular here....just enough to agree that this board has classy and knowledgeable posters.  Almost feel that I could be as all three of my kids live in NYState ???.  Two sons in Brooklyn Heights/DUMBO presently, and daughter near Ithaca.  Does watch local college sports....Ithaca, Cortland State, Cornell and Hamilton football when I visit.
Anyway....Merry Christmas...Happy Holidays.  My daughter's family is on the way down and will bring the best present!  My grand daughter who I hope will reach at least 5'10"...maybe play WBB and/or Vollyball ;D.
Just checking in....as I cannot remember if I posted Season Greetings.  Magicman is aware of my mental "problems".  Called ne out on another board :P

amh63,
You come here often enough that we consider you a regular. Hope you get your wish and your grand daughter shoots up there. Merry Christmas.

Coache's vs Cancer announcement, for the Bengals visit to Lehman college, almost makes Buff State the also ran before the whistle.....
Lehman website........
"While on the men's side, three of the four teams enter the tournament atop their respective league.  Lehman is leading the CUNYAC at 8-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play.  Western Connecticut sits at 6-3 and 2-0 in the Little East.  Jersey City is a perfect 5-0 in NJAC play and 7-2 overall while Buffalo State is 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the SUNYAC.  The four teams in the men's tournament come to the Bronx with a combined 26-9."

I guess not leading the Sunyac is a bad thing but damn did you have to say it like that? >:(. Boys are on the road at 3 pm. I think that I'll go wish them well! I gotta believe a 4 team tourney with a combined 74.2% win rate, must rank near the top of holiday tourneys this week. It's been a long 2 weeks off. Seeing my boys back in the gym today was a beautiful site!  Coach Glover reminded me that Buff State is 10-0 over the past 5 holiday tournaments dating back to before thier Sweet 16 run. :)

Yac is back starting today with Brockport and Oneonta getting started!

Games on Monday, December 28th

Oneonta State  vs  Central    3:00 PM    @ San Juan, Puerto Rico

A little fun in the sun for the Red Dragons with a basketball game or two as part of the vacation. I hope the boys from the northern climate take care of business today and tomorrow before they head to the beach to party. As I mentioned several days ago on this site, Central comes into this game with a gaudy 8-1 record but has gained it at the expense of lesser competition than that, faced by the Red Dragons. They have a wealth of 6'5" to 6'7" players, all capable of putting points on the board, as they have 5 guys averaging from 9.8 ppg to 24.1 ppg. They have 10 players that get at least 11 minutes of court time per game, so they are deep as well as tall. The Dutch average 90.7 ppg and have limited the opposition to 72.8 ppg. They have really had only 2 close games, a 107-102 loss to Nebraska Wesleyan, a DIII independent college, that plays very few DIII schools because of their geography, and a 72-70 win over NAIA DI Grand View U. out of Des Moines, Iowa.

The Red Dragons welcome back the services of last year's leading rebounder, Kareem Williams, who could be a difference maker in today's contest. I certainly have to believe that Oneonta will be a better team with Kareem in the lineup than they have been all year. The added height will come in handy at just the right moment also. Oneonta counters the Dutch with a number of players that can get hot in a hurry. Lawrence Coleman, Mikey McElroy, Jackson Zuvic, Jack Dignan, and now Williams can all score in double digits and with Williams back on board have 10 players that will average more than 10 minutes per game in playing time.

Central is favored in this game by a 6 point margin and on paper look like the winners, but as Hall and Oates once sang... 'I can't go for that", so I'm taking the Red Dragons to win this track meet by an 85-81 final

Bridgewater State  vs  Brockport State        5:00 PM   @ Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Golden Eagles may get to play a game in Brockport at some point this year but it won't be this week. It's not often that a team gets to play its entire non-conference schedule on the road, yet somehow the Golden Eagles managed to do just that. These are probably the only two games they wanted to play on the road.

Bridgewater State looks to be up against it in this matchup today. The Bears come into this game with a 3-5 record and 4 of those losses have been by double digits. The most telling loss is the 100-67 monkey stomping that Cortland put on the Bears.

BPort should do likewise although Coach Dunne may take his foot off the gas early enough that the final margin may be smaller that 33 points. The oddsmakers have Brockport favored by a 13 point margin but I think they will win this one by a score of 83-61.

All-Time

Oneonta down at the half 37-31 to Central.
Slow start for Oneonta, but they seem to be getting into their groove.
Central moves the ball well on offense and has controlled the boards so far.
McElroy and Dignan seem to be doing a majority of the scoring.
You can get the live stream on Puerto Rico college sports tour.

All-Time

Coleman comes out and hits Three 3's Oneonta up 45-44
15 minutes left

All-Time

Coleman and Zuvic having huge 2nd halfs
Oneonta up 75-71  2 minutes left

All-Time

Oneonta wins 82-77 over Central in Puerto Rico
I don't have any of the stats, but McElroy, Dignan, Coleman and Zuvic were definitely in double figures.
Big 2nd half's by Coleman and Zuvic were the difference in the game.

I'm sure the Magicman will get all the details.

Big win for the Red Dragons.

pg04

I went to look for the video feed for the Daytona Classic that Brockport is playing in and they don't even have video. Isn't this 2015??? Live stats it is.

pg04

Brockport doing nothing close to blowing Bridgewater State out of the proverbial water. Instead, they are down big at the half 36-28. Looks like their minds are out at the beach, Maybe this wasn't the best type of trip for this team?

Couldn't see the game but the stats show that Brockport committed a lot of fouls in the 1st half. Brockport 1-4 on FT attempts while Bridgewater State 13-15. This is the difference in the game.

pg04

The second half has looked much better, as Brockport has scored as much in the first 10 minutes of the half as they did in the 1st half and now Golden Eagles lead 56-53 with 10 minutes left in the game.

Great news for the Red Dragons and for the SUNYAC. This team looks to be the top team in a conference that is rated by Massey to be #11 in the country while we are #17. This should help our SOS.

All-Time were you watching or listening to the game? I went to every website of all 4 schools involved in this tournament  and couldn't find a link anywhere. Not even a live stats link.
