Glad to see Buffalo State come back and win this one.
Championship game tomorrow against Lehman at 6pm.

Bad Loss by the Oneonta Red Dragons 55-48 to Gustavus Adolphus.
Heard they were down 33-15 at halftime.

John Carroll must be as good as advertised as they beat up on Brockport.
Brockport was never really in the game.

JCU looks very good indeed! However, Hard to win a game against #10 when you play a 3OT game 16 hours prior and the #10 didn't play the day before. I think the fatigue showed from beginning to end.

I'm exhausted after watching Buffalo State defeat New Jersey City 119-116 in double overtime.

Good job by the Bengals to come back from a 9 point deficit in the first overtime with only 1:50 left to play. At that point I had resigned myself to the fact that this game was over. I was extremely disappointed that the Bengals did exactly what I asked them not to do and allowed the Gothic Knights to overcome a double digit deficit for almost the entire 2nd half and find a way to tie the game up in regulation. It was especially frustrating to see them not foul on the final New Jersey City possession of regulation which would have prevented the Gothic Knights from making the game tying 3 pointer. Were they not aware of what happened to Brockport State last night when they did the same thing on 2 occasions and allowed Bridgewater State to stretch that game out into 3 overtime periods. Fortunately New Jersey City did the same thing at the end of the first overtime and by not fouling the Bengals allowed them to tie it up and send it to a 2nd extra session.  Now, like Brockport, the Bengals may not have legs nearly as fresh as they might have been with out an extra 10 minutes of court time. The good thing is Lehman/Western Connecticut have to play the later game and won't get as much recovery time as the Bengals will.  But the Bengals will need every minute of rest from having to go all out for 50 minutes today.

Bad job by the Bengals for even allowing themselves to be remotely close to overtime in this game. They should have won this game by 20 points. Seriously 20 points...or more. Two many guys making too many bad decisions once they had a 14 point lead.

I had the Bengals winning this game by an 83-77 final score. I was off the mark and they should have won by an 85-65 final score.

At this point of my day I'm just glad they won. I will have some words with a Buffalo State coach I know about this game in the near future. I think I'm lucky to be alive, I was so worked up watching this one. I know my Cardinals haven't put me through the wringer, this year, like the Bengals did today. ::) :P :o

I can't understand this score.

Possible reasons...
A. Somebody drugged the Red Dragons lunch.
B. They partied with some Island Girls until the wee hours.
C. They all got Montezuma's Revenge and they were up all night hitting the john.

I'm hoping it was B but it could have been none of the above and they were just shooting so badly they couldn't have hit the Atlantic Ocean. 15 points at halftime may be the worst score we'll see all year for a SUNYAC team at the half.

Just a mystifying outcome. :P :( Especially after such a good win yesterday. I'm  :o

Was that a F--ki-g game or WHAT!??? Omg, I'm soaking wet from the excitement.  Head still ringing...can't eat but happy as all be damn.  Proud of my beloved BENGALS who could have quit after giving up one helluva lead in the 2nd half! Spirits were down but o/t comebacks like this 1 don't happen often.  I wouldn't believe any of the stats folks. I know for a fact ( because a Bengal coach told me) that the halftime stat sheet that they passed out had bengals up 43-42.  Had JO Mair with a rebound ( he didn't step on the court) and Luke Jenkins with 2 points ( Luke didn't dress for the game).  The official scorekeeper at Lehman has the worse attitude of any staff at any gym that any of the Buff State coaches have ever seen.  At one point she threw a "f" bomb at the coaches in overtime after she refused to give coach Glover the amount of timeouts buff state had left. Just plain refused to say anything when asked how many timeouts the bengals had remaining. Unbelievable!

After all was said and done, it still was one heck of a win. It should have never been that hard.....but it was.  I think I'm gonna stick around for tomorrow's game!

Go BENGALS!!!!

Magicman,
I'm sure it was B, especially after the great win they had yesterday.
Just when you think they are on their way, a game like today is a reality check.
You have to bring it every game.

Too bad we couldn't hold up our end of the bargain Magic & Bengals!  Now for our reward we are gonna get drilled by NJCU  :(

7express,

You know, of course, from the 2 pick em leagues that we're in, that I chose Lehman to beat Western Connecticut in both of them. I would  have liked a Western-Buff State  finals game but  just didn't see it happening. When Western lost that game to Pine Manor they dropped a few notches in my book.

I tuned into the d3hoops.com tournament and their broadcast/video/production has been very good. Augustana got challenged and now Whitworth is having a tussle.

Should send Gordon, Pat or Dave down to Puerto Rico to actually have quality video for those games, because BOTH the D3 hoops classic and the Hoopsville tournament are excellent video quality.

The game between Buffalo State and New Jersey City on Tuesday afternoon, that resulted in a double overtime win for the Bengals, set an NCAA record for total free throws in an NCAA Division III game. The whistle happy zebras called a total of 73 fouls in the contest that resulted in a record 112 free throws being taken and resulted in 8 players, 4 from each team taking an early seat. The refs managed to foul out 3 of the Bengals starting 5 players as well as their 1st big man off the bench. For the Gothic Knights they lost 1 starter and 3 of their top 4 reserves. The fact that 3 of their reserves fouled out indicates just how many fouls were called. I can't remember the last time I watched a game where 3 bench players from one team fouled out.

In Monday's triple overtime game between Brockport and John Carroll there were 56 fouls called resulting in 78 free throws. Both the number of fouls and the number of free throws were considerably less than what occurred in the Buff State game, with one less overtime period.

Some officials just can't let the players play ball but have to interject themselves into the game far more than they should. There were an awful lot of cheap fouls called against both teams yesterday that were instances where the refs should have kept their whistles in hand instead of their mouth. I realize that because you have 3 separate game endings, because of the overtimes, that you will get a minor foul parade by the team trying to mount a come back on 3 occasions instead of one but there were plenty of fouls called before the teams were intentionally fouling that were simply officials trying to insert themselves into the game far too much. I hope today's game between Lehman and the Bengals has more of a flow to it than what took place yesterday.

Love Buffalo State over Lehman today.
Wouldn't want Benglesrule to make that long trip and not win the Championship game after almost having a heart attack watching yesterdays game.
He needs a convincing win tonight.
Enjoy the game.
