Brockport seems to be doing what they should, it's 32-17 with about 7 minutes left in the first half.

Brockport got up as much as 22 (I think) and lead 48-28 at the half.

pg04

Brockport defeats New Paltz easily by the score of 89-55. And it wasn't that close - The lead was 40 before 2 late 3's by New Paltz.

Some key stats (from the live stats, they may get updated) to show the disparity:

Fg%- Brockport:  55.4% New Paltz: 36%
Rebounds - Brockport: 44 ; New Paltz: 26

Free throws: Brockport: 7-11 ; New Paltz 13-29 (ouch!) Brockport always seems to foul more than their opponents...

pg04

Other Scores:

Plattsburgh with just as decisive win over Fredonia 86-54.

Buffalo State seems to have survived against Potsdam 84-78. Don't know more than the score so we'll see what other info we get on it.  :P

Oneonta stays hot and defeats Geneseo 76-65.

Rushed home from a repast to catch the game...
1st time watching my Bengals online in a while. Hard game to watch in the 2nd half when we were out scored by 6!  Thank God we went 21-25 from the charity stripe. Thank God Jordan Glover had 9 assists and Mike Henry recorded an almost double double (21 pts and 9 rebounds). Thank God that Kevin Marmolejos came off the bench to score 18. An ugly win if ever I saw 1. Watching this game on line gives me a whole different perspective on my beloved Bengals!

17 turnovers??  Not something that will make coach happy. That's for sure! Give it to the Bears. They have to be the best 1 win team in america!  Trust me.. Dante Langley will be a force in the Sunyac!  I pity the fool who looks past Potsdam. It's gonna hurt. Now on to Plattsburgh. I sure hope that their live feed is better than Potsdam. The last 2 mins of the 2nd  half froze.  Had to keep up via live stats on my phone. Potsdam nailed 3 or 4,  3 pointers,  in the last 40 seconds.  Thank God for live stats!

Go BENGALS!

RIP  Norman McConney!

Great show. First time my wife ever listened ( she had too because I turned the sound off on the tv in our hotel room).  It's interesting listening to coach Fajri who is extremely humble .  Keep up the good work.

Ps where can I buy one of those D3 shirts?

What shirts are you referring to?

On the show your blue shirt had "D3" over the right chest. Wondering if those shirts were for sale?

OH! Ha! I forgot what I had worn for the show (since it was all pre-recorded and I was focused on the shirt and tie I was wearing instead last night).

I am afraid not. Those are staff shirts. :-/ I have Hoopsville t-shirts I'd consider selling. :-)

LOL - I see your point of view, but being staff shirts, I don't have extras. :-)

Thanks pg04.   Something tells me that Magicman will come up with a t shirt idea that we can all agree on!   :)

T-Shirts??  T-Shirts? The magicman got out of the haberdashery business 40 years ago. The only T-Shirt that I recommend has a large P on it right above the heart. Next to the P is a Cardinal. They come in Red, White or Blue. They don't come with a B on it.

I don't think that I have 1 of those in my closet. Maybe you want to send me 1, xl, via coach Chris Hillman today.  Come to think of it, I believe a certain coach brought you a Buff State t-shirt years ago. I could be wrong though ( memory ain't what it used to be). I told a good friend of mine about the music shop too. Don't be surprised if he stops in there 1 day and says "hi" to you and/or Mrs Magicman!

Predictions fellas ???

Go BENGALS!!

I watched my Eagles on video last night and very impressive. It was a great team effort with alot of playing time for some people that needed it. Congrats to Josh Nelson for lighting up the gym. Good to see Pat M. start knocking down some  shots and re-estblishing himself. The real game is today with Oneonta!!! Make it a great weekend, boys!!! Good luck--May the Force be with you!!!Little Star Wars--

Saturday January 9th

Just went to post all my selections and hit the wrong button and lost my entire post that I've been working on for the past hour. I damn well hate it when that happens. So the usual banter will be missing today as I have to leave for the game. Just some quick picks instead.

New Paltz Statz  at  Geneseo State        4:00 PM

Geneseo has the blues and will try and get healthy against the Hawks. Hawks a 15 point underdog will be hard pressed to keep it that close.  Geneseo wins this one 87-61

Fredonia State  at  Potsdam State        4:00 PM

Both with a 1-17 record in the Yac last year as they beat each other on the road. Both already have their 1 win this year but at least one of these 2 team will double last year's output. Blue Devils favored here by 4 points off that upset of Geneseo no doubt. Hope I'm wrong here but I think Ian Helps will be too much for Potsdam to handle.  Fredonia wins 70-65.

Oneonta State  at  Brockport State        4:00 PM

Oneonta better than I thought or I overrated Geneseo. Probably a little of both. Brockport missing top player Clifton Lyerly in last night's win over New Paltz. They didn't need him against the Hawks, but will against the Red Dragons. I'm still going with Brockport as Oneonta hasn't won in Tuttle North in years and a 2-0 west swing is so tough to do. Golden Eagles take it by a  75-71 score.

Buffalo State  at  Plattsburgh State        4:00 PM

Featured Game of the Day

Bengals with 6 straight wins equal their longest winning streak of last season. In fact it's their longest winning streak since they won 13 in a row during their Sweet 16 season of 2010-11.

Cardinals a younger team than Buffalo State will need big minutes from their first year players today, to match the Bengals intensity. Cardinals have their own winning streak of 4 straight will try and repeat some history as they halted the Bengals 6 game streak last year when they made their annual visit to Memorial Hall.

The Cardinals have had the best of the Bengals recently, winning 4 straight in this series and 5 of the last 6. But they are dead even at 8-8 over the past 8 years

Surprised the oddsmakers have made the red hot Bengals a slight 4 point underdog here but I will concur with that assessment. Final score in another barnburner between these two rivals will be Plattsburgh 85 Buffalo State 82.

Hmmm.  Some interesting predictions   I hope All Time is correct.

On another note.... A good friend of mine stooped by the "Music shop" to inquire about some music and magic. He heard a rather interesting story about Magicman, a turtle and a pitchfork. I can't WAIT to hear about this 1 from the magic 1!

Go BENGALS!!

Plattsburgh comes from behind after Buffalo State comes from behind. Overtime was on the agenda and the Cardinals prevailed in the extra session by a final score of 98-91.

I sat with Kyle Richardson's dad. I think we were more worn out than Kyle was and he played 41 of the 45 minutes.

What a game. What an outcome.

Both teams played their hearts out. Too bad someone had to lose. The Cards won this battle but I'm sure there will be payback when they go to the Queen City.

Sometime over the next day or so I'll catch up with some write ups of the weekend games.

May not last for long, and may not be true when it's all said and done, but from now, until at least January 12

THE PLATTSBURGH STATE CARDINALS ARE IN 1ST PLACE ALL BY THEMSELVES WITH A 4-0 RECORD
