Oswego State 83 Canton 75.

Close to what I predicted as I had this one an 86-73 Laker win. Oswego won the first half by a 40-26 margin and then had to hold off the Kangaroos as they fought back from a 15 point 2nd half deficit to close within 3 points on 4 separate occasions. The Lakers would respond each time and hit 9 of 10 free throws down the stretch to close out the Roos. Brian Sortino led the Lakers with 21 points and 6 assists. Ian Schupp had 16 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Mykelle Krecko had a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds. He missed a triple double when he could only manage to block 7 shots. 8-)
Keith Tyson was also close to a double-double with 10 points and 8 boards. Brandon Gartland filled up the stat sheet with 9 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and a block.

The 2-1 Lakers will host Clarkson on Tuesday the 22nd at 5:30 PM.

Potsdam breaks into the win column with an 85-68 win over St Joseph's (Bklyn) I picked the Bears to win by a 75-68 score. They wanted to pile it on. Details will follow later.

Buffalo State is leading Villa Maria 75-64 with7:27 remaining in the game. The Bengals need to run faster if they are going to reach my 102 point prediction.

magicman

Geneseo State with a clunker as they fall to TCNJ by a 79-68 final score Details later.

Buffalo State 94 Villa Maria 83

Only a combined 177 points I had the Bengals winning 102-85. Missed it by 10 points. Lovell Smith had 35 points and Nico McLean had 19 points. I'll blame it on Mike Henry, he only had 12 points, he should of had 20. Then again he almost had 20 rebounds finishing with 16 but I'm sure that live stats missed a few.

Bengals go to 3-0 and next up is Alfred University, but not until November 29th in Mayberry.

You could possibly be right about Henry's missed rebounds. There was stretch in the 2nd half where it seemed like he was grabbing every board for about 3/4 mins.

Hope that you can speak to fran elia (or whomever runs the stats now). SUNYAC website is , in a word, horrible (with regard to stats)...IMHO. To their credit they have all the totals for every teams, wins, points etc, but when you go to individual stats then all of sudden there appears that no players from Oneonta, Potsdam or BUFFALO State have scored a single point , nor gathered a single rebound nor assist. According to SUNYAC stats players from these 3 teams don't exist!!  Not sure what happens between the time the yac records wins/loses and totals and the time in which players from those teams get credit for their totals!!  Put your magic touch to this problem...please!!

The Law Firm

Nice weekend for my Bengals (yours too "Bengals Rule"  ;) ) Lovell Smith (my early candidate for POY in the YAC) showed why he is just that, with 35 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams shot a ton of free throws which indicates a slow paced game which is not what the Bengals like to do, BUT nonetheless they are battle tested in an early season at home. I too have always advocated for a tougher non-conference D3 schedule for the Bengals, but nobody wants to come play at the Sports Arena (no idea why, largest crowds, best facilities etc). When the Bengals do go on the road for out of state tourneys, they haven't lost a game in 6 years (unlike other teams in the YAC)! Plattsburgh put up 121 on Elms which was the biggest shock of the weekend to me, and Brockport is off to an early 2-0 year. Enjoy the upcoming holiday gentlemen! Touch base with y'all in a week or so! Law Firm out.

Peace
LF

Don't be cutting my Cards short, LF. They didn't have 121 points against Elms, they had 126 ;D

That's true...the Bengals are out of state tournament road warriors. Now they need to do that in the conference. This could be their year.

I too agree that Lovell has had a terrific start!  Mike Henry ( also all tourney team) has looked very good too! The good thing is that all of the starters plus Grayer and Chateau have made significant contributions this week ( 2 games with 5 players in double figures and 1 game with 4 in double figures)!!

Although we won yesterday, that game got somewhat excruciating with all the fouls plus 2 double techs! I guess when cross town teams meet then these type of games can happen. Personally I felt that the BENGALS should have blown this game open early ( up 16-4 in the first 4 mins)! With conference games less than 2 weeks away ( Magicman can tell you who the BENGALS open conference play against .  Hint it ain't Fredonia)!

I'll take a 3-0 start however our Sunyac overall record needs some wins !  Cheering for the Cards and knights today!  Go SUNYAC

GO BENGALS!

RPI  at  Plattsburgh State        5:30 PM   Championship of the Cardinal Classic

The Cardinals haven't played the Engineers in 36 years but the last time we did on Dec 8th, 1979 we beat them by a score of 61-51. In fact, the all time series is 5-3 in Plattsburgh's favor and those 5 wins have been the last 5 times these teams have met. So the Cardinals have a nice winning streak on the line tonight.

RPI came charging back from a 17 point deficit against Elms to take down the Blazers yesterday afternoon. The final score was 79-71 as the Engineers, especially Tom Horvat hit their free throws down the stretch. Horvat was 9 for 10 from the line and finished with a game high 31 points. The Cardinals will have their work cut out for themselves to contain Horvat. RPI appears to be a bit shorthanded in the front court as 3 of their bigs were sitting on the bench in street clothes. That could prove to be a problem if the Cardinals decide to go with their big lineup.

Both teams are 1-0 in the Cardinal Classic so the winner of tonight's game will be the Champion. Plattsburgh is coming off a program single game record of 126 points. RPI won't want to run with the Cards so I don't see a century mark in tonight's game. I think that Plattsburgh stretches their winning streak against the Engineers to 6 and wins this one. We beat fellow LIberty League member Clarkson on Tuesday by an 84-68 final score. I think we win this game by a similar margin. Plattsburgh 85  RPI 70.

What, no prediction for Plattsburgh game?

Hold your horses! I got a call from my instrument repairman to go pick up a bunch of fixed horns at 12:30 so business got in the way. I do have to put in a few hours of work this week. I've already put in about 100 hours on basketball related activity. There were 4 days this week I didn't go to bed. ::)

The prediction has been posted.

jdex

Cortland at 1-1 plays Tuesday at 1-2 CCNY in NY City. RDragons meet Ithaca the following Tuesday. Corts J. Cooper named to All-Cortaca Tourney with a pair of double-doubles. Ithaca's M. Chasin event's mvp

Geneseo State 86 New Rochelle 74

I had the Knights winning this one 78-68, so my crystal ball wasn't too far off and the margin of victory was even closer. Details later.
