Dragons shooting hasn't been shakey - it has been hideous. Deciding factors on Friday: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances and Plattsburg's inability to play any aspect of the game to any degree of competence. I rue driving an hour and spending $8 admission to view this stinker with my wife. The best part of the game was sharing an orange and Peppermint Patty at the half.

Was commmited to see Potsdam at Buff State Saturday but did follow the Oswego v Cortland web cast. Both leave heads shaking with grotesque first half. Oswego in control througout 2nd half. Up by 9 with 1:29 remaining. Cort closes with a mini-run to make it appear interesting. Actually, it was...for 1:29.

Should, at least for a while, give rest to the delusion that Dragons should be in top 25. No slam at the team intended - only at the delusional.  Dragons do D-up and make teams play ugly; most opponenets, however, can play ugly with or without D...and Dragons offense odius.

Conference tightens up and a good week ahead. We'll see if Geneseo has developed into a dangerous team - or just beating up light-weights. Games of the Week: Tuesday - Oswego v. SUNY IT; Friday - Cortland v. Geneseo; Saturday - Buff State v. Cortland.

Big game tonight in Utica, visiting OSU Lakers vs IT Wildcats.. Oswego looks to avenge their Jan 14th 88-81 loss to Reaves and Co. With a win over Cortland last Saturday, can the Lakers keep momentum and their SUNYAC lead.. IT looks to keep pace with Conference leaders C-Land and Lakers.. Also looks to keep the pressure on  Brockport and Potsdam.. Can Laboard stay hot, and will Burridge be a presence in the post.. Better guard play definitely determing the out come of this game.. IT: Bein-Aime, Reaves, Plante.. OSU:  Perioli, Franze, Downing.

Buff State needs win tonight to stay in the mix of things, good test for Geneseo to prove themselves in the conference..

Brockport trying to take care of Fredonia at their home gym.. Looking to put some space between themselves and the bottom half of the pack..

NP at O-State... Both looking for win #2...

Plattsburg vs visiting Potsdam, big game for Potsdam to keep pace with top 4..

Plattsburgh-Potsdam last night. A truly exceptional game. Both teams played with a tremendous amount of intensity. I was so sorry to see the game decided the way it was: Chris Gibbs-Smith made one of his usual spin moves, shot the ball over a man 6 inches shorter than he, misses shot, whistle blows, foul on the Potsdam guy.  Offensive foul, probably, but please, don't make the call that you did!!! The game should have been decided by overtime, not 2 free throws with 2.2 seconds left. The capacity crowd deserved a little longer night of hoops. Reaction after game: POtsdam fans: "Can you believe that?"  Plattsburgh fans: "we got away with one."

GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. POTSDAM HAD A FRESHMAN WHO AVERAGES 4 POINTS A GAME GOES OFF FOR 24. BARTON DOESENT DO ****  ANTHONY WILLIAMS GOES FOR 23 POINTS 7 ASSISTS AND 1 TURNOVER. PLATTSBURGH SHOOTS THE BALL TERRIBLE AND STILL WINS BY TWO. POTSDAM GOES 10 FOR 13 FROM THE THREE POINT LINE AND STILL LOST. POTSDAM GOT BEAT. GIBBS SMITH GOES TO THE HOLE AND SHOOTS OVER TWO OR THREE PEOPLE AND GETS FOULED. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR POTSDAM WHERE WAS YOUR HERO BARTON AT?  EXACTLY NO WHERE GIBBS SMITH GUARDED BARTON  AND HE DIDNT DO MUCH WHY DOESENT BARTON GUARD GIBBS SMITH. GIBB SMITH WENT 4 FOR 5 FROM THE FLOOR AND 4 FOR 5 FROM THE LINE IN THE SECOND HALF WHILE BEING DOUBLE TEAMED EVERY TIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL. IF PLATTSBURGH'S SHOOTERS WOULD HAVE BEEN HOT POTSDAM WOULD HAVE LOST BY 15. SO STOP MAKING EXECUSES. YOU POTSDAM FANS ALWAYS TALK ABOUT BARTON WHY DIDNT HE STEP UP AND SHUT DOWN GIBBS SMITH IN THE SECOND HALF AND DOWN THE STRETCH WHERE HE WORKED POTSDAM OUT. BUT KEEP MAKING EXCUSES ITS THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO. NO ONE ON THAT TEAM WAS ABLE TO HOLD GIBBS SMITH ONE ON ONE AND IF IT WASNT FOR THE DOUBLE TEAMS EVERYTIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL HE WOULD HAVE GAVE DUCENA 30 OR BETTER AND WILLIAMS TORCHED POTSDAMS GUARDS FOR 23 AND 7 AND ANTWON MILLER ALSO PLAYED A SOLID GAME OFF THE BENCH. TAKE AWAY #15 s BIRTHDAY NIGHT AND YOU GUYS ARNET EVEN IN THE GAME.

Toot your own horn some more...G-S. How many times have you beaten Potsdam in your career? Just keep your mouth shut till you beat Potsdam in the SUNYAC tournament.

ILOVEBALL

OH WOW SO WHAT I JUST BEAT THEM LAST NIGHT THOUGH. AND I AM NOT TOUTIN MY OWN HORN I AM STATING THE FACTS. POINT BLANK IS POTSDAM LOST LAST NIGHT MY ARGUMENT IS OVER AND HERE YOU COME OUT OF NO WHERE BUT SAY WHAT YOU LIKE WE WON LAST NIGHT SO TALK TO YOU LATER  ;) ;D AND TO BBM IF THE SPIN MOVE IS SO USUAL WHY DOESENT PEOPLE LEARN TO STOP IT AND WHY IS HE DOUBLE TEAMED EVERY TIME HE TOUCHES THE BALL. YOU PEOPLE THAT RIGHT ON THIS THING ARE SO FUNNY PROBABLY NEVER PLAYED A SPORT IN YOUR LIFE BUT SO QUICK TO HOP ON THE CLOSET SCHOOL TO YOUR HOUSE. GOOD NIGHT AND HAVE A GREAT NIGHT IN POTSDAM

ILOVEBALL

AND TO BE HONEST I WOULDNT EVEN WRITE ON THIS PAGE BUT  EVERYTIME SOMEONE WRITES ABOUT PLATTSBURGH THEY ALWAYS SAY SOMETHING NEGATIVE SO I AM GOING TO DEFEND PLATTSBURGH STATE EVERYTIME THERE IS A NEGATIVE COMMENT. IF IT WASNT FOR THAT I WOULDNT EVEN WRITE ON HERE. EVERYTIME PLATTSBURGH NAME IS MENTIONED OR MOST OF THE TIME I SHOULD SAY IT IS SOMETHING NEGATIVE STARTING FROM LAST YEAR

Don't you have anything better to do than to come on here and talk smack? I can't imagine your coach would be terribly happy about you posting on a message board about your immense greatness during the season. Is it that boring in Plattsburgh that you have to sit in the dorm room and peck away at the key board with your caps lock on? Most guys would let their play on the basketball court do their talking. So people say bad things about Plattsburgh. It's a message board. A last second win against a Potsdam team that's around the middle of the pack in the conference, nothing to seriously write home about.

And the last person you need to rag on is Edane Barton. By my estimation, he's still the best player in the conference. And...he's been a part of two SUNYAC Championship teams, been to the NCAA tournament twice, and twice, he was the Most Valuable Player of the SUNYAC tournament. Not to mention, he's got the common sense not to come on here and talk trash about others.
