Welcome back Bear. Let the games begin.

Planning on a Brockport - Geneseo final at the Chase on Saturday. While most predictions I've made have been more lethal than an appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated, these should be fine if the Knights are for real.

If your stuck in the north country for the weekend, Oneonta @ Potsdam will entertain.

Tuesday the 16th, dinner at Canale's and a Brockport v. Oswego dessert, fine evening fare. I haven't seen B'prts latest imports but hope they're as good as advertised. May be the best chance for a tournament-enabled SUNYAC team?

Final 4 tickets went on sale Monday. If you haven't been, go. No matter the teams, great competition, decent venue, not all that far, warm if we're lucky...say no  more.

bports

Pretty tough for Bport and geneseo to play sat considering they play friday.

My bad - misread the Geneseo website. Although, at my age, being a day late isn't all that bad.

my prediction on the bport-geneseo game. bport overwhelms geneseo's veteran guards with their pressure and wins by 20. i have never been impressed by these geneseo guards like i was when they had binger, greco, and lemoyne. but, as everyone knows weird things happen when sunyac teams play each other.

I don't know...I tend to think that Geneseo is a team on the rise this year. I do think Brockport will win, but I think it will be close until the last 5 minutes. Brockport appears to be the class of the SUNYAC so they should get it done.
GO FISHER!!!

Would surprise us not to find Bport in Chase final vs. UR. Had them atop SUNYAC from 1st semester showing and has only grown (as in Sherod Harris). See chemistry as only potential hazard. Deep and talented.

Also tonight, NP at Pdam, IT at BS, OsSt at Freds, OnSt at Pburgh

And Saturday in addition to Chase, NP at Pburgh, Corts and Freds, OsSt at BS, OnSt at Pdam

I dont think the Geneseo win over Bport was that much of a Surprise, I predicted Geneseo to win the SUNYAC this year, they have Solid talented guards with a bunch of solid big men that play very structured basketball.  Yes I think Bport is more talented and was the favorite but I think that Geneseo's strong guard play was exactly what it was going to take to beat an uptempo pressurizing bport D.

A few more details on Oneonta @ Potsdam.  Oneonta was atop the SUNYAC standings at 4-0.  They extended their lead to 17 (45-28) early in the second half, before Potsdam went on an 11 minute 20-0 run.  Been a long time since I've seen a college team of any kind held scoreless for 11 minutes.  For the last 16 minutes of the game, the Potsdam outscored the Dragons 34-11.

This is the Bears second huge turnaround against a SUNYAC foe.  In December, they came from 18 down in the second half to defeat Brockport (sans Sherrod Harris and Cantrel).

Nice comeback for this young Potsdam team after a disappointing loss to New Paltz the night before.
