To wit: Hamilton 76, St. Lawrence 68 and Bport comeback. Fifty six pt outburst in 2nd half keyed by 20-6 gait from the gate. Eagles 8x13 3 over closing 20' when Sherod H. netted 15 of his 23.

Grats, Magicman! B. Siskavich up and running for Pdam. That's what we get for too many rays here on Anna Maria Island

And just to catch a couple of others: Bport 36x72fg, 11x27 3s, 9x15ft, 26 assts, 13 trnvrs to Pdam's 20 ............And Corts D. Maggiacomo 12 pts(4x11fg, 2x7 3s). Red Dragons' playoff hopes probably dead in the water despite fine road effort. Been that kind of season for TSpan troops. Growth coming a tad late, but growth: frosh 6-6ers M. Lewis, P. Oliver, small forward soph C. Niehoff, quick jr guard J. Miolen

What gives?  Brockport State was up in the rankings until "meaningless" losses during the JP Morgan Chase tournament.  Now, they are on a 9 game streak, and are blowing out the competition.  When do you start to see this team back in the ranks.  They will win SUNYACs, be in the NCAA...and then what?

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

And just when you think it's over ......along comes Yogi, er Fran. Cortland guru reminds us Red Dragons aren't going quietly in quest for playoff slot. Still hope. Instead of chasing Buff St. for eighth seed, Potsdam now gets CSt attention. Corts currently ninth at 4-9, Pdam eighth at 5-8. They clash Tuesday in north country where guests looking to sweep season series. Next weekend finales have Corts at Bport and home to Freds; Bears at NP and at Oneonta.

Razor

On the topic of player of the year in the SUNYAC, it's very wide open to this point.  I think that Sherod Harris and Chris Reaves are probably the favorites but their are several deserving candidates.  Here would be my all conference teams through this point in the season:

1st team:

G-Sherod Harris (Bport)-16ppg, 4apg, 2.5st. (Best player on the best team)
G-Anthony Williams (Plattsburgh)-19.8ppg (the glue to his team)
G-Chris Reaves (SUNYIT)-18ppg, 5rpg, 5apg, 2.8spg (he does it all for his team)
F-Scott Morton (Geneseo)-13.8, 5rpg, 4.7apg, 2bpg, 2.5spg (he's ranked in top 12 in 8 categories)
F-Todd Franze (Oswego)-17.7ppg, 3apg, 2spg (He's had a breakout year)

2nd Team:
G-Chris Laboard (SUNYIT)-17ppg, 8rpg, 3apg, 2spg
F-Travis Gorham (Platt)-12.8ppg, 10.5 rpg
F-Brandon Williams (Bport)-13.7ppg, 7.9rpg
C-Matt Burridge (Oswego)-13ppg, 8.7rpg
F-Will Heslin (Oneonta)-13.5ppg, 6rpg

3rd team:
F-A. Foluke (New Paltz)-18.6ppg, 7.8rpg (probably belongs higher if not for teams record)
G-Dave Maggiacomo (Cortland)-16.2 ppg
F-Tarik Kitson (Geneseo)-12.8ppg, 6rpg
G-Erik Roberson (Oswego)-15ppg
F-Cantrel Parish (Bport)-12ppg, 5rpg
G-Kerry Wood (Buff.)-13.5ppg

Hmmm I am apt to agree that no loss is meaningless...  Not too fond of a current Brockport broadcaster's statement there...

Anyway, the Eastern region is not too high on the pollster's radar, and maybe if the eagles make a run into the playoffs, then it's possible they'll make it into the poll...

It's nice to see that they are doing so well this year, wish I could see them play!

RadioGuy

It's unfortunate that the Eastern Region isn't very liked.  I think the SUNYAC system in itself has a strong level of competiveness.  I understand that "no loss is meaningless" but the tournament wasn't a huge deal, and it doesn't count on the SUNYAC record.
As far as Brockport, they are doing very well this year.  This is a team that does well often.  Last year was an off year, but that was due to a shallow bench.  Anyway, hopefully I can click on the polls soon and see them on the list somewhere...AP has them 2nd in East..Probably will change come Wednesday when the new lists come out.

jdex

Every game counts .....with meaning. And for SUNYACs this season that's especially true since league, for the most part, is fairly mediocre. Bport has stepped up, then down, and currently is playing very well, and at a good time. C. Parrish becoming integral figure. Now .......Eagles going to SUNYIT tonight. Will real IT please stand up!

Also Tuesday matchups that, off recent play, could go either way. Corts at Pdam has playoff implications (as in in/out), Oswego at Pburgh, NP at Oneonta, Freds at BS

Razor, can't find much fault. A few others deserve mention

RadioGuy

Well, BPort is now 1st in East...clinched 1st in SUNYACs...and this should give them the bid to the NCAA's.  We'll see how long until they get the recognition they deserve, right?  I don't mean to deny or down anybody here, but this is coming from somebody who follows all Brockport athletics...a sports program that is always underestimated and seems to continuously get looked over.
