SLU the last couple of years has had a record good enough to play ECAC's but they've passed as it coincides with their spring break.

If they don't make NCAA's as a Pool C, I'd wonder if they would do ECAC's either.

Wow- idk that Hamilton turns down ECAC bids, but I guess it makes sense because I think U of R does for the same reason.  If SLU doesn't get a pool C bid or win the Tourney outright and they decline a ECAC bid, the SUNYAC should put 3 or 4 teams in the ECAC for sure.  Heck RPI, Union and may be even Clarkson could be considered although a sub .500 record by Union doesn't look to good and Clarkson's league record of 5-9 is pretty bad also.

It's my understanding that a team must be .500 overall or better to be considered for ECACs, which throws out Union and Hobart.  Here's my guess at the field right now, also assuming that both Hamilton and St. Lawrence decline invites:

Plattsburgh, Oswego, SUNYIT and Geneseo from the SUNYAC; Utica, Ithaca and RIT from the E8; Vassar from the LL.  If P'burgh and/or Utica wind up in the NCAA Tournament the next group of candidates would be RPI, Clarkson and Hilbert of the AMCC...I actually just assume that Hilbert is an ECAC member b/c they're in the East region.  They might not be.

Plattsburgh - Brockport, should be a good game... last one was 74-72 on 12/1 in PLattsburgh.   I think Brockport wins again... but by a larger margin, as they are a team that has grown as the season went on.

Anyone be at the game? We may drive into attend...

jdex

Bob,
Great choice of words, as in grown. Five games into the season and along come 6-7 Cantrel Parrish and 16ppg Sherod Harris. We're just crunching a few numbers here. Heck, a few numbers? This Bport outfit plays in waves. And give 'em credit, they appear to an outsider to get along and mesh well.

jdex

Plattsburgh through 20' with 32-24 lead. As much as 11 pt. difference. Pburgh and Bports each with 13 trnvrs. Burgh 14x32fg, Port 10x33. Cards with 2 3s, Port 1. A. Williams 10 pts for PB, B. Williams 10 for BP. Sherod Harris limited to 8' with 2pf

pg04

Plattsburgh wins SUNYAC Championship, and will gain the pool A bid... 80-75 Plattsburgh... Bubble buster anyone?

jdex

Ahhhh ,  just what NCAA desires!

Plattsburgh trails this for a short spell in second half, then flexes muscle.
A. Williams 28 pts(11x26fg), 5 assts, 9 rebs; T. Gorham 12 pts(5x11fg); M. Dietz 12 pts(4x7fg, 3x6 3s); K. Hunt 11 pts(5x9fg), 10 rebs; A. Miller 6 stls. Burghs 34x55fg, 23x34ft, 13x23 3s, 45-25 reb gap, 9 trnvrs to Port's 22. Cards bench 22, Eagles' 4 after Bport 47-2 bench margin vs. IT. Port 34x73fg, 14x19ft, 7x27 3s. Sherod Harris goes second half route, finishes 31 pts(10x16fg, 7x9 3s). B. Williams 19 pts(9x16fg), 17 rebs

Bob Maxwell

Disappointment... really thought Brockport was on a roll.  Guess Plattsburgh felt otherwise.

Congratulations to Plattsburgh on a well played game.

Hopefully Brockport will still get an at large bid and SUNYAC will have two teams in the tournament.

When do they come out?

Ralph Turner

Last night, Bob.  You have been spending too much time building a group of baseball fans!   ;) :) :D

Brockport did get a Pool C bid.  See front page.  Pairings in the brackets come out about 9 am EST.

Brockport will be playing Williams.  St. Lawrence will be hosting the first and second rounds.  I am slightly surprised given the thrashing Brockport gave them earlier in the year, but St. Lawrence did win their conference and that would probably be the difference...Unless there is some other hosting issue?

No hosting issue.  It appears the loss in the SUNYAC final cost at least two home games.

FisherDynasty

That loss for bport was very costly, lost home court advantage through the second round and have been matched with Williams in the first round, ouch.
