Cards and Magicman--You are correct that home court means nothing with the Burg and Bport. The last 2 yrs bears that out--I wish I could be there today because I think it will be a championship game atmosphere. Everybody knows these are two top 25 teams battling for supremacy!!If both teams can't stay pumped and focused for 40 minutes they won't come out on top. Get them---Eagles!!!!!Enjoy the game.

"...knows these are two top 25 teams battling for supremacy..."

It's only one game and nobody's life is at stake.

Just back from the Plattsburgh-Brockport game and worn out just from watching. Just like last night the Cards got off to a slow start and fell behind 10-2 in the early going. Brockport led by S. Harris and M. Wilkes extended their lead to 28-16 with 5 mins. left in 1st half. Cards closed to trail 32-27 at the break. Lots of turnovers by both teams but good defense by both as well. More of the same for much of the 2nd half with Golden Eagles maintaining a 4-6 pt lead until Pburgh finally grabbed a short lived lead at 53-52 with 4:30 left to play. Bport back in front 62-56 by 2:24 mark . A. Williams hit a 3 and E.Daniyan a bucket to cut it to 1 at 1:30 mark. Wilkes for Port then Daniyan for Pburgh traded buckets and after a missed Bport posession, Pburgh had the ball with 30 secs. left down 64-63. They wound the clock down and Williams nailed a 3 with 11 secs. to go. Bport got the ball in to S. Harris who went the length of the court to the hoop and was fouled by T. Gorham with 3.8 left(his 5th foul). Harris calmly swished both FT's and a long 3 at the buzzer by A. Williams for the Cards  was short.
In overtime Plattsburgh drew 1st blood with a 3 by A. Miller followed by another 3 by K. Hunt to grab a quick 6 pt lead. Cards extended the lead to 77-66 on 5 FT's before S. Harris made a driving layup with 2 mins. left. At that point the foul parade by Bport started and Plattsburgh let the Port team hang around by missing way too many down the stretch. Bport actually had a chance to tie at the buzzer when S. Harris had a decent 3 pt. attempt that rimmed out at the buzzer.
Plattsburgh was led by Anthony Williams with 24 pts and 7 rebounds. Khylan Hunt had 13pts 12 boards and 4blocks. Travis Gorham leading rebounder in the conference was huge again with 17 boards 9pts and 6 assists. Errol Daniyan off the bench with 12 points and 4 boards and Chris Ruiz also off the bench with 11pts. 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Golden Eagles were led by Sherod Harris with 21 pts. and 6 assists, Mychal Wilkes with 21pts. Cantrel Parrish with 14 pts. and 12 boards and Brandon Williams with 13 pts. and 15 rebounds.
Plattsburgh now gains a leg up in the race to hold the Conference tourney with an 8-0 record while Bport holds the top spot in the West division with a 6-1 mark

And the same game story from Brockport's Web Site

Senior Sherod Harris (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) hit a pair of free throws with less than four seconds left in the second half to tie the score and force overtime in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game against SUNY Plattsburgh, ranked No. 17 in the country in the latest D3Hoops.com poll, Saturday in Memorial Hall in Plattsburgh.

In overtime, however, the Golden Eagles (10-6 Overall, 6-1 SUNYAC) missed their first five shots – all from beyond the 3-point arc – and Plattsburgh (14-2, 8-0) took advantage scoring the first 10 points of the overtime period and then held on as Harris' last second 3-pointer missed the mark giving the Cardinals an 81-78 victory.

Brockport held a 32-27 lead at the end of the first half and controlled the play for all of the first 20 minutes and most of the second half as well. Plattsburgh took its first lead of the game with five minutes remaining on a Chris Ruiz 3-point basket at 53-52.

Brockport regained control and scored the next six points but with the score 64-63 with just over a minute to play, Harris missed his first free throw in seven games snapping a streak of 28 straight shots from the line. Both teams missed free throws over the next 45 seconds and Plattsburgh took a 2-point lead on an Anthony Williams 3-point basket with 11.4 seconds left in the second half.

Harris took the inbounds pass a raced the length of the court driving the lane and was fouled by Plattsburgh's Travis Gorham with 3.8 seconds left. Harris calmly started a new free throw streak with two shots in front of a screaming crowd to tie the game at 66-66 and force an overtime period.

Plattsburgh jumped out to a 77-66 lead in the extra session before Harris scored a pair of layup baskets and a short jumper to make it a 79-72 game with 48 seconds left. After Plattsburgh missed three-of-four free throws at the other end of the court, Harris hit another driving layup and hit a foul shot for a 3-point play to cut the Cardinal lead to 80-75.

Another free throw by Plattsburgh made it a six-point game at 81-75 but Mychal Wilkes (Newark, NY/Newark) buried a long fade away two-point jumper and Aaron Poles (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) hit 1-fo-2 free throws to cut the lead to three points at 81-78 with nine seconds left to play.

Plattsburgh's Errol Daniyan missed two free throws and Cantrel Parrish (Buffalo, NY/Grover Cleveland) grabbed the defensive rebound, shuffled a pass to Harris who struggled to control the ball but managed to get a shot off that would have tied the game again but the 3-pointer missed the mark.

Harris and Wilkes each finished with 21 points but Harris missed all eight of his 3-point shots. Brandon Williams (Rochester, NY/Edison) scored 13 points and grabbed a team-leading 15 rebounds and Parrish netted 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.

Magic--I listened on the radio and it sounded like the first 4 posessions of OT by Bport were all 3 pt attempts by people that dont shoot 3 ptrs regularly for them. Is that true? It didnt sound like they made good decisions in OT on the offensive end. Again I was listening and not actually there--It sounded like a good hard fought game. Still love the Eagles!!!

I think that is close. I know Jermaine Johnson had a terrible night shooting and don't understand why Bport didn't go to Sherord Harris immediately after Plattsburgh hit the 1st 3 in overtime. Cards scored 11 points in OT before Port got a pt. Twice in a row after that Harris drove to the basket and made a running hook layup while being closely guarded. Bport scored 12 pts in OT and Harris had 9 of em. When Daniyan went to the line for Pburgh with 5 seconds left and only needing 1 of 2 FT's to ice it I was praying he would hit 1. After missing the 1st, I told my buddy with me that we're in trouble if he misses the 2nd one because there was enough time for Harris to go down and get a good look at a 3. Sure enough that's what happened and He almost pulled it off. Don't understand how Plattsburgh even let him take that shot. Should have fouled him the minute he crossed the half court line, cause if he makes a 3 and sends it to double OT the Cards had Gorham & Williams on the bench with 5 fouls each.
Harris is a fine player and this was my 1st chance to see him play. He didn't disappoint me. If I was voting for Player of the Year my vote would be evenly split between Harris and Williams. Harris loses out only because he didn't play 1st semester. Wilkes can play as well. He had 13 in the 1st half. Glad we don't have to travel to Bport to face them again. Once more in the Championship game will do quite nicely.
By the way did you happen to catch my predictions for tonite's games in the SUNYAC? 6 for 6. Missed the Geneseo-Potsdam game by a point & had the 3 pt. spread on the big game correct. On the Empire 8 board on the 23rd I had Fisher beating Utica and SLU taking down Vassar 69-66 for the 1st place matchup in the LL. Wish I had a bookie that would 've taken my bets. I'd of cleaned up.
