Plattsburgh St. goes to 15-0 in the SUNYAC with a tight 56-53 decision over Cortland St. Cortland with a chance to tie has the ball with 16 secs. left but only manages an off balance 3 at the buzzer. Cards gain the upper hand late in the 1st half with an 11-2 run to grab a 26-20 lead at the break. Open up the 2nd period with another 11-3 run to go up by 14 37-23. Final Score

Potsdam 89 - 79 Bears move to 7-8 in SUNYAC.

And clinch the 6th seed in the playoffs with that win. I told you not to worry. Glad to see Siskavich in the lineup. Nice contribution as well. Looks like you'll be in Oswego on Tueday. Can't see them losing both of their remaining games to fall to 4th. On the other hand I just saw the upset posted by Fredonia over the Lakers. Now they need to win against Buff St. on Sat. night unless Potsdam beats Cortland .

I still think the 1st round of the playoffs on Tuesday Feb 26th shape up like this :

#8 Fredonia St. at #1 Plattsburgh
#7 Oneonta St. at #2 Brockport St.
#6 Potsdam St. at #3 Oswego St.
#5 Geneseo St. at #4 Cortland St.

Spoon was  a great Potsdam player.   1- 2 between Derrick Rowland and Leroy Witherspoon.  One can go either way. When we were making the great run in    85-86.  The college showed the 80-81 championship game in the Union.  The      80-81 game was on ESPN, back in the day ESPN showed the D3 championship game.  The Union was packed.  When he hit that shot at the buzzer the place went nuts. This was 5 years later and we knew the outcome.
Oh by the way he was only a freshman in 80-81 wasn't POY until 82-83 and 83-84. Spoon was 2xPOY and still didn't have a problem hanging out with us next to a beer ball.  He is a class act.
Maybe they can bring out the tape from either championship game or maybe the 1 point lose to North Park in 84-85.  The team this year can make another great run.
GO BEARS!!!

PS I saw on the Potsdam web that they have a bus going to the hockey game at Pburgh. Once GO BEARS!!!
Any win against Plattsburgh is a great victory.

SUNYAC Saturday Afternoon - All four home sites decided, but opponents still TBD.

Oswego @ Buff State
Lakers upset last night vs. Fredonia, Need a win to hang on to the three seed.

Potsdam @ Cortland
Cortland coming off a tough loss to Plattsburgh, Bears have won 3 straight.  Cortland needs a win to have a shot at a three seed

Morrisville @ Fredonia
Fredonia win last night give them a straight path to #8 seed.  Morrisville in a three way tie for last place in the conference.

Plattsburgh @ SUNYIT
Plattsburgh coach Curle was head man at IT before moving to his alma mater.  IT has talent, but not always on the same page.  Both teams had tough games last night & short turnaround.  Burgh wants regular season perfecto.

Brockport @ Geneseo
Intramural rivalry.  "port has been playing well & taking no prisoners.  They beat you early & don't let anyone off the deck.
Geneseo a quality team with good bigs & Scott Morton, but maybe not enough quickness to handle Sherod Harris.  Geneseo locked into a 5 seed, will play either Cortland or Oswego.

Oneonta @ New Paltz
Oneonta locked into a 7 seed and contemplating a visit to Tuttle North on Tuesday.  Travel partner rivalry, Hawks playing for pride.
