im an LL guy, so im not that familiar with the sunyac, but how do they only get one bid? did brockport struggle in non-conference play?

Brockport squandered it's changes for an NCAA bid by losing it's final Regular season conference game to Geneseo and then played very poorly in it's semi-final round loss to Oswego State in the SUNYAC Tournament held in Plattsburgh.

They probably would have a bid now had they won vs Oswego and lost to Plattsburgn in the SUNYAC Finals.

I think the loss to St. Lawrence really hurt Brockport's chances.  From what I know of these things, two teams, same record, same approximate OWP & OOWP, head to head REALLY matters.

The loss to Geneseo really hurt Brockport, as that put them on the same W-L plane as SLU, then they both had bad losses before the finals of their conference Tournament.

Brockport & SLU both wound up 16-6 in region.

OWP - 'port .558. SLU .539
OOWP - 'port .538 SLU .516

SLU beat 'port 86-78
Brockport had no wins vs. Regionally Ranked Teams.

Result - ECAC's for Brockport, SLU on Spring Break.

I was informed today and asked to pass along the fact that Plattsburgh State TV will be televising the 2nd round game between Plattsburgh St and the Clarkson-Kings College winner. The game which starts at 7:00 on Saturday night will be a 1 hour tape delay and start at 8 PM. In order to receive the broadcast you have to be a Charter Commnications subscriber in the Plattsburgh region.

Did not know the whole story behind Anthony Williams. I just want to say congrats to him and his family for being nominated for the Josten's Award and Jimmy V Comeback Award.

with age comes?

Slicky- I agree.  I knew some of the story but not all of the story.  Congratulations are in order for Mr. Williams' accomplishments on the court and even moreso for the accomplishments off the court!!!

If Brockport gets by the private school, I think the Oswego/Brockport game will be in the 100's.

They would be the 4th SUNYAC team with 20 or more wins. And Geneseo has 19.

Wonder what the score would be if Brockport or Oswego ever played Grinnell??

Bear Fan

Seriously Bear... way too funny! :D Still good D3 hoops in northern New York in March... who could ask for anything more?

thebear

Yeah & the Bear women are in the ECAC Upstate Semi's.  One more win & they set a school record with 17 wins.  Two years ago, they won 2.

I do see Clarkson got beat by a nice even 30!

Plattsburgh State will take on Kings College Sat. 3-8 at 7:00 PM. Kings College pounded Clarkson tonight 96-66. Kings grabbed an early 20-4 lead 7 mins into the game and coasted to a 47-21 halftime lead. More of the same in the 2nd half. Clarkson got as close as 17 early in the 2nd but Kings opened up a 33 pt. lead and emptied the bench. The Kingsmen shot almost 65% from the 3 pt. line nailing 11x17. Hit 61% FG's for the game with 30x49. John Soboleski with 23 pts and 8 boards led the way followed by Jamie Cousart with 20 pts. 6 rebs. and 5 assists.
Clarkson was led by Brandon Linton with 17 pts.  Keith Murray and James Evans had 11 each.
