NESCAC Championship series update-- Best of 3

Game 1-- Tufts 5, Williams 0 after 3 innings.

Update-- 3:08 PM Eastern:  Tufts 8, Williams 0 after 3 1/2 innings.

CSAC Tournament update:  Wilson and Cedar Crest tied at 1-1 after 1 inning in the winner-take-all game.  Winner of this game gets the AQ to the 2021 NCAA DIII Softball Tournament.

Hopefully Cedar Crest didn't use up all their  offensive output yesterday (30 runs, my goodness--)

CCIW Final:  Millikin 7, North Central-IL 6. 10 innings. (Hunt got the game-winning RBI). Next up, Carroll/Augie. Elmhurst up 3-1 on Wheaton-IL in the bottom of the 3rd at the moment.)

MIAA:  Calvin 3, Hope 1- 4th inning.

ASC:  ETBU 2, Mary Hardin-Baylor 0. Top of 2nd.

NESCAC Championship Series Game 1

Tufts leads Williams, 10-0, after 4 1/2 innings.  Tufts is 3 outs from victory in game 1.

Update-- Final-- Tufts 10, Williams 0  (F/ 5 innings on 8 run rule)

For the second game in a row, Tufts hands a d3 opponent their first loss of the season.  Tufts defeated Brandeis in game 2 of their doubleheader last Sunday, giving Brandeis the one loss in their 13-1 record.  Now, Tufts hands Williams their first loss of the season.

And now, there is only one undefeated team left in d3 this season:  Moravian of the Landmark Conference.

Don't worry, WLCALUM83.  Cedar Crest just put up a 7 spot in their half of the third inning.   

Cedar Crest leads Wilson, 8-2, after 3 innings in the CSAC winner-take-all game for the AQ.

Update-- Cedar Crest put up a 4 spot in their half of the fourth inning.

Cedar Crest now leads Wilson, 12-2 after 4 innings and is now 3 outs away from the CSAC AQ to the NCAAs.

Salisbury wins the Coast to Coast AQ to the NCAA DIII Softball Tournament.

NECC Tournament update (Double elimination)

Day 2 is underway in the NECC Tournament as action moves to Quincy, MA

The first game of the day is in the books--

#1  E. Nazarene 4, #2 Lesley 0

E. Nazarene advances to tomorrow's Championship Final.

#2 Lesley next plays #4 Becker in an elimination game.

The winner of Lesley vs Becker will need to defeat Eastern Nazarene twice to win the AQ.

Eastern Nazarene only needs 1 more win tomorrow vs winner of Lesley vs Becker to win the AQ.

MIAA Final:  Calvin 5, Hope 1 (Dutch 1 for 7 hitting with bases loaded). Calvin takes the Pool A Title and will face either Alma or Trine later.

ASC:  ETBU 13, Mary Hardin-Baylor 3. 4th inning. (Tigers put up an 11-spot in their half of the 3rd inning with 9 singles and 2 doubles mixed in.) (I won't make any Jim Rooker like promises). (He eventually did make good on his, though, with a 300-mile off-season walk for charity between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh). 

CCIW:  Wheaton and Elmhurst are tied at 7 in bottom of 7th.  Carroll/Augie scoreless in 2nd inning.

NACC South Updates: Game 1 Final, Benedictine 1, Aurora 0.

                                 Game 2  Aurora and Benedictine are tied at 10 in top of the 5th.

CCIW Final:  Wheaton 10, Elmhurst 8. (Wheaton got a 3-spot in the top of the 8th and held on for the win) Elmhurst is eliminated.

                   Carroll 6, Augie-IL 0 Top of the 4th inning.

NACC South Division Champs:  Benedictine, which beat Aurora 15-10 in Game 2.  IL Eagles await MSOE/CUW winner for the NACC best of 3 final series next week.  An Eagle 5-spot in the 7th was the difference here. Now Aurora has to sweat a bit to find out if a bid is coming their way.

NACC North:  MSOE 2, CUW 0, top of the 3rd. A Raider win, and they're NACC North Tournament champs.
