Final in Mansfield, CT-- #2 Eastern Connecticut 4, #6 Keene State 2

Eastern Connecticut wins the Mansfield, CT pod and advances to the Little East Championship Best of 3 series on Saturday.

ARC Update:  In an upset, BVU 10. Coe 5 Final (All of BVU's runs scored in innings 4-6) Mason, Guyette and Hansen all HR'd, Coe gets Simpson in an elimination game next.

ARC Upset No. 2  Dubuque 15, Wartburg-4  Dubuque-Origer 6 RBI, L Schmidt 9 hit complete game. Wartburg gets Central-IA in another elimination game next.

CCiW:  Carroll 2, Carthage 1 6th inning.
           FINAL just in, Carrol 4, Carthage 1 (Learman 2-run HR, Osterhus tossed a 2-hit complete game).

           NCC-IL 8 Wheaton 1 Final  6 different Cardinal players knocked in at least 1 run Corban pitched a 2-hit complete game.
           That concludes CCIW play for today.

UMAC;  NW-MN 4, Bethany Lutheran 1  5th inning.

HCAC:  Transylvania is already making a statement, plating 5 runs in the 1st inning.

WIAC:  Platteville 1, Oshkosh 0 2nd inning.

LEC update:  2 RBI single has made it S. Maine 10, UMass-Dartmouth 6 after 5 innings.

If results hold, S. Maine will advance to the Little East Championship Best of 3 series and will host Eastern Connecticut on Saturday.   S. Maine is 6 outs away from advancing.

E8 update in the elimination game:  Russell Sage has scored 2 runs in the top of the third inning.  It is now St. John Fisher 5, Sage 3 Top 3rd 2 out.

3:45 PM Eastern LEC update:  S. Maine 10, UMass-Dartmouth 8 Top 6th 2 out.

E8 update:  St. John Fisher 6, Russell Sage 4 Bottom of 4th 1 out.  St. John Fisher scored a run in their half of the 3rd inning after Sage put up a "3" spot in the top of the 3rd.

3:49 PM Eastern LEC update-- S. Maine leads 10-8 over UMass-Dartmouth after 5 1/2 innings.  S. Maine gave up 2 runs in the top of the 6th but is still 3 outs away from advancing.

3:56 PM Eastern-- LEC update-- Going to the top of the 7th with S. Maine leading 10-8 over UMass-Dartmouth and 3 outs away from victory.  UMass-Dartmouth needs at least 2 runs in the top of the 7th to extend this series.

4:02 PM Eastern-- UMass-Dartmouth has a runner on third and the tying run at the plate with 1 out in the top of the 7th.

S. Maine wins the Gorham, Maine pod.

The Little East Championship Series (Best of 3) is set for Saturday:  #2 Eastern Connecticut at #1 Southern Maine.

Empire 8 update--

#2 seed Sage has just scored a run in the top of the 6th to make it St. John Fisher 6, Sage 5 Top 6th 2 out.

Update-- After 5 1/2 innings, it is St. John Fisher 6, Sage 5 in this elimination game.

Bottom of the sixth with nobody out-- St. John Fisher has just hit a 2 run homer to make it 8-5.

WIAC:  Stevens Point and Whitewater are now tied at 1 in the bottom of the 6th.

HCAC:  Transylvania 11, Franklin 1 If the Grizzlies are held scoreless in the 5th inning, Transylvania takes in on the 8-run rule.

OAC:  ONU up on Mt. Union 1-0 in 2nd inning.

ARC:  Simpson and Coe are tied at 1 in the 3rd.
         Central put a 4-spot up in the top of the 1st on Wartburg.

2 RBI single has just made it 10-5 in favor of St. John Fisher over Sage in this elimination game.  Bottom of 6th 1 out.

Empire 8 final in the elimination game--

#1 St. John Fisher 13, #2 Sage 5 (F/6 inn on the 8 run rule)

2 out when winning run scored.  St. John Fisher scored 7 in the 6th inning to end this game.

This sets up the Empire 8 Championship final in Game 6 on Saturday--

#3 Alfred at #1 St. John Fisher  (Alfred needs 1 win for the AQ, while St. John Fisher needs 2).

With conference tournament action over in my area of the country for today, and my having a meeting tonight, I will not be posting until at least late tonight.  WLCALUM83 will be posting updates from other conference tournaments for the rest of the day, and I will be back later.

            UPDATE   Whitewater 2  Stevens Point 1 FINAL  8 innings (Whitewater's Dunning hit a lead-off walk-off HR)

            Whitewater and Oshkosh square off for the WIAC Tournament Title later.
     
HCAC:  Franklin plated several runs in the 5th to stay alive against Transylvania.
            Grizzlies down 11-7, bottom of 5th.
            UPDATE:  Transylvania 15, Franklin 7, 5 innings (Pioneers, 16 hits on the game.)

            Next:  Anderson/Hanover in an elimination game.

MIAC:  Final:  St. Thomas 7, St Catherine 1. (2 Tommie pitchers combined for a 4 hitter, St. Thomas put up an 8th inning 5-spot to break the game open.

           Game 2  Concordia-MN/St. Benedict next on the docket.

OAC;  Mt Union has the tying run on 2nd with 2 out in the bottom of  the 7th--
              Rose singled-potential tying run thrown out at the plate to end the game.
              ONU wins, 5-4.

         Final #2:  Muskingum 4, Baldwin-Wallace 0. Muskies put up 3 runs in the 2nd inning and it was enough. Smith tossed a 5-hit complete game shutout.

         It's a Muskingum/ONU final series for the OAC Tournament Title.

NCAC: DePauw 4 Hiram 0 2nd inning.
