This poster's observations on Day 1 Leadoff Classic results:

#  6 Cortland State may be 0-2 but per box score of their second game with Willamette, the bases were loaded when the West Region squad's pitcher got Weidman to ground out. (lost big to a higher ranked ASC squad in their opener)

The ASC squads have yet to lose.

UW-Eau Claire nosed out #23 Alma with a 2-spot in the 8th inning--Blugolds have a tough draw-- (#4 ETBU) tomorrow.

Willamette also is perfect so far, but a game with UT-Tyler is ahead for that squad tomorrow.

All 3 ASC teams still undefeated. (Something's gotta give when #2 UT-Tyler playes #3 Louisiana College tormorrow)

Ranked teams in Gold Bracket:  #2 UT-Tyler, #3 Louisiana College, #4 ETBU, #9 Gustavus Adolphus,  #16 Christopher Newport.  (ORV--Moravian)

Silver Bracket:  #6 Cortland State,  #20 Central IA, #23 Alma  (ORV--UW-Eau Claire, St. Thomas-MN)  Previously ranked--Emerson

If Cortland State and Central, IA win their first games tomorrow, that'll set  up another Top 25 matchup--with those 2 squads going at it.

Last Tuesday, March 9th, The Shenandoah University Hornets (5-3) swept a DH from the nation's top-ranked team with 5-4 and 7-6 wins over No. 1 Messiah (3-2).

Shenandoah looks like a program on the rise after you review their back to back 30 win seasons.

2008: 30-12
2009: 30-13

It'll be interesting to see how this team progresses this year as they might be program to garner some national recognition in the Top 25 poll this week?

Messiah's Rhoades was saddled with her first loss in over a year in the first of those 2 games- (shaky defense) yeah, Shenandoah might move up some.

With the ranked ASC teams holding serve over the weekend in the Top 5 this poster's not expecting them to slip much in the next poll.
