Further update: VA Wes 12, BSC 1  Final (Another win for Hannah Hull, a Julia Sinnett 2-run 1st inning HR was all the offense the Marlins needed here.

Update:  Sarah Metzer just belted a 2-run HR to give the Bulldogs a 6-4 6th inning lead--

Bulldogs get 2 2-out hits to plate another run in the 7th inning.  It's now TLU 7, DePauw 4 bottom of 7th.

UPDATE:  Texas Lutheran 7, DePauw 4  FINAL: ( Bulldogs' Kelly Jurden makes a spectacular diving catch in the 6th inning and pitcher Ashlyn Strother tosses 2 scoreless innings after TLU takes the lead to get the win.).

Any idea why why Oshkosh is playing Birmingham Southern and not the loser of P1G4 as listed? 

Is the idea to have two teams play that haven't squared off earlier in the tournament thus far?

Any idea why why Oshkosh is playing Birmingham Southern and not the loser of P1G4 as listed? 

Is the idea to have two teams play that haven't squared off earlier in the tournament thus far?

Yes, and I did not know that the NCAA DIII was planning to switch the teams in the pods until today.  They did not make that known at the beginning of the weekend that certain teams were going to be changing pods based on results. 

I have checked the bracket now and have found out that the NCAA DIII Softball Committee did switch DePauw and BSC into different pods now based on previous results.  I will adjust the brackets accordingly to reflect the change.

Update-- They have also started the Oshkosh v Birmingham Southern elimination game already, and 2 innings in that game have already been completed.  This may have something to do with future weather developments as well due to BSC getting run-ruled out by Virginia Wesleyan earlier today.

The Oshkosh v BSC game is being played on field #2, and a secondary NCAA.com crew a/k/a Crew "B" is calling this one.

DePauw vs St. Thomas (MN) is about to get underway on the main field, and Lincoln Rose will be calling that one with Dr. Megan Turk.

Both elimination games are going to be played simultaneously due to weather developments.

Game 2-- #4 Texas Lutheran vs #5 Tufts-- TLU 4, Tufts 3.

Pod 2 (4 team double elimination)

Game 1-- #2 Virginia Wesleyan vs #7 St. Thomas (MN)-- Virginia Wesleyan 3, St. Thomas (MN) 0
Game 2-- #3 Birmingham-Southern vs #6 Rochester-- Birmingham Southern 3, Rochester 2 (F/9 innings).

The Pod 1 and Pod 2 winners (i.e. the last team standing in each pod) will play each other in a Best of 3 series for the National Championship.
