ASC Update:  Belhaven, ETBU, the Cru, Hardin-Simmons, UT-Dallas, McMurry and SRSU have clinched ASC Tournament spots. Concordia-TX and LeTourneau are in contention for the #8 seed.

Concordia-TX:  3 games vs. McMurry
LeTourneau:  3 games vs. Ozarks

LeTourneau would own the tiebreaker, having beaten Concordia-TX 2 out of 3 head to head.

American Rivers Conference update:

After Wartburg (9-5 in-conference) this is a real dogfight yet. Only Simpson is on extremely thin ice at the moment.

UMAC:   Bethany Lutheran, UW-Superior and MN-Morris have 3 of the 4 spots. 4 squads are in contention for the last one.

MIAC:  Bethel-MN, St. Olaf, St. Benedict and St. Catherine are in great shape for the top 4 seeds at the moment. Below that, 6 teams alive for the last 2 spots.

MWC:  Lake Forest and IL College have clinched conference tournament spots. Grinnell, Monmouth and Cornell-IA are in contention for the last 2.

"ASC Update:  Belhaven, ETBU, the Cru, Hardin-Simmons, UT-Dallas, McMurry and SRSU have clinched ASC Tournament spots. Concordia-TX and LeTourneau are in contention for the #8 seed."

Belhaven needs 1 win in final 3 games to secure #1 seed and host conference tournament.  Last year they hosted the conference tournament but played the games at nearby Mississippi College.  I have heard rumors of where the tournament will be played if they host this year.  Probably will not be announced unless Belhaven clinches.

Are you sitting down?

Good.

2 USA South Tourney Finals to report. Pfeiffer 7, Wesleyan-GA 3 Pfeiffer's offense frustrated Wesleyan's main starting pitcher, hitting 2 HR's among other things in the opener. . .
#5 Seed Wesleyan-GA 2, Pfeiffer 1 Pfeiffer eliminated.. /. so Weslayan's manager went with their other starter, a Sabrina Bowen 4th inning triple drove in the game winning runs and Tihana Supanic held Pfeiffer in check the rest of the way to get a complete game, and a very historic win.

It's Piedmont vs. Wesleyan-GA for the USA South AQ.

(That definitely beats the year in which Wesleyan-GA gave D1 Mercer a good run for its' money in Wesleyan's opener. Mercer resorted to several late double-steals to get the win that time.)

Wesleyan-GA was picked to finish 7th in their division in the pre-season coaches' poll.

1) Coe and Wartburg were picked to finish in a first place tie. To give an idea of how wild this conference race was, Wartburg was the only team to make good on that projection. Several ARC Tourney qualifiers finished with .500 in-conference records. Central-IA needed to win its' second game today, but Coe run-ruled that squad to eliminate the Dutch. Per Central-IA audio feed, the word is, its' AQ or bust for the ARC this year. (Coe had one of its' key staring pitchers (Ellie Thurow) out for a while, but she's back now, and the Kohawks still did well enough to qualify for conference tourney.

Farmingdale State, Manhattanville and Mt. St. Mary were in a real dogfight at regular season's end in the conference. I could get interesting if someone other than Farmingdale State gets the AQ. Old Westbury made a nice recovery just to put itself in a position to be in this thing, but they're very up and down.
