NESCAC update--

Saturday, May 13, 2023 action-- Single elimination tournament

Game #3-- #4 seed Colby defeated #5 seed Bowdoin, 5-4.

Colby will play Tufts in the first NESCAC semfinal game at approx 2:30 PM Eastern-- the winner of that game will advance to Sunday's NESCAC Championship Game to be played at 11 AM Eastern tomorrow.

The final quarterfinal game has #3 seed Williams vs #6 seed Trinity coming up next.

MASCAC tournament update-- Saturday, May 13

#1 seed Framingham State has defeated #2 seed Bridgewater State, 8-0 in 5 innings, in a winner's bracket final.

Framingham State has advanced to tomorrow's Championship Final at noon Sunday needing 1 more win to clinch the AQ.

Bridgewater State will play the winner of Westfield St vs Worcester St in a Loser's Bracket final eliminaton game at approx 3 PM Eastern today.   The survivor of (Bridgewater/Westfield/Worcester) will need to defeat Framingham State twice tomorrow to clinch the AQ.

MASCAC elimination game--

#4 seed Westfield 3, #3 seed Worcester 0  Top 5th.   Winner faces Bridgewater St. later today in a loser's bracket final to determine who will face Framingham St. in the MASCAC Championship Final on Sunday.

CCC Best of 3 Championship series--

After 4 1/2 innings in Game #1, #1 seed Endicott leading over #2 seed Western New England, 9-3.  Western New England extended the ball game by scoring 3 runs in the top of the 5th after trailing 9-0 after 4 innings.

Little East Tournament Championship  Game #10 of the LEC tournament--

#2 seed UMass-Dartmouth leading over #1 seed Eastern Connecticut State, 3-1, after 6 innings.

Eastern Conn St. needs 1 win to clinch AQ, while UMass-Dartmouth needs to defeat E. Conn St. twice today.

If result holds in this game, UMass-Dartmouth will force a winner-take-all game at 3 PM Eastern today.

Game #1 of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Best of 3 Championship Series has gone final--

#1 seed Endicott 11, #2 seed Western New England 3 (6 innings)

Nobody out in the bottom of the 6th when Endicott scored the walkoff run to take a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 series.

Game #2 starting in approx. 30 minutes-- Endicott needs 1 more win to clinch the AQ.

#2 seed UMass-Dartmouth 4, #1 seed Eastern Conn State 3.

UMass-Dartmouth has forced a winner-take-all Game #11 for the Little East AQ.   First pitch scheduled for 3 PM Eastern.

This is the first loss in Little East Conference play this season, (both regular season and tournament) for the Eastern Conn St. Warriors.

In an elimination game, #4 seed Westfield State defeated #3 seed Worcester State, 7-1.

Westfield will next play Bridgewater State in an elimination bracket final to determine who will advance to Sunday's Championship vs #1 seed Framingham State on Sunday.  The winner of Westfield vs Bridgewater will need to defeat Framingham State twice tomorrow, with the first game starting at noon Eastern, to clinch the MASCAC AQ.

5/13/23 Game 1 Final:  Wartburg 2, Coe 1 (A Tara Wehde 2nd inning double knocked in both Knight runs, and Wartburg's Ashely Nelson kept the Kohawks from scoring after that. Ellie Thurow took the loss)

Game 2 Final:  Luther 1, Central-IA 0 (A Sydney Schultz single with the bases loaded and 2 out in the bottom of the 7th drove in the only run of the game.)
