Interesting to note that though Dominican was picked for 4th in the NACC Pre-Season Poll, the Star squad got the second highest number of 1st place votes (4) behind Concordia-WI (18). (seen as a potential 'dark-horse")

Regardless how softball goes the rest of the season, nice PR for a school athletically speaking known for its' soccer prowess a while back nationally.

(IMHO, it was more Whitewater and Stevens Point having great weeks last week than anything else that dropped Cortland and NE Wes out of the poll. Warhawks went 6-0 and the Pointers 4-0 and both squads knocked off #14 Tufts).

NCAA regional rankings are out. I don't think this was posted yesterday but I did note the date is as of April 28, 2024:

Interesting notes:
Region 1 has 7 ranked teams with a winning percentage of .666. One team has a losing record.
Region 6 has 7 ranked teams with a winning percentage of .891. Belhaven with a #6 national rank is only #6 in their region according to the NCAA. I don't believe their conference is very story.
