Host squad beat LaVerne 1-0 (Greene drew a bases-loaded walk and Schwartzenburg made sure it held up by tossing a shut-out)

Southwestern upset UT-Tyler  3-2 in 8 innings (Pirates' Wallace RBI single clinched this one)

ETBU 3, Misssissippi College 1 (ETBU starter hurled a complete game win)

UT-Tyler 11, LaVerne 8 (8 innings- Patriots' Hurt smacked a 3-run double to drive in the winning runs-Pats were trailing early in this one, but rallied-Sheppard got the win in relief)

Game 5:  Mississippi vs. Louisiana (A Choctaw loss and they're out)
Game 6:  Southwestern vs. ETBU

DePauw Regional-Day 2:

Washington-MO stays alive by shutting out Denison
Top seed Ohio Northern comes from behind late to knock off North Central
DePauw gets a 2-run double from Minx in the 8th to knock off Transy

Simpson Regional-Day 2

St. Thomas beats IL Wes 3-2 (IL Wes pitcher throws 3 wild pitches allowing a runner to score from 1st in 7th)
Linfield has yet to lose and Simpson is still alive.

Newport News Regional --Day 2

Defending champ Messiah knocks off Salisbury 4-2 (10 innings). (Rhoads- 19 K's, Messiah's Seneca belted a 2-run HR to account for the winning runs. Salisbury had won 34 games in a row before this loss.-per Seagull site).

Washington-MO 7, Trine 5 (Thunder late rally fell short)

DePauw 6, Ohio Northern 2

Winner of that one vs. DePauw- will have to beat the home-standing Tigers twice to advance.

Other than Washington-MO's early loss, things have held to expected form in this regional.

Game 14: Eastern Conn. 1, Coast Guard 0 (9 inn)

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- In a match-up between two of New England's top pitchers, Coast Guard's Hayley Feindel (River Ridge, LA) and Eastern Connecicut's Molly Rathbun (Hebron, CT), Rathbun and the Warriors prevailed 1-0 (9 inn.) to take the NCAA Regional Championship this afternoon at Wellesley College. Eastern, 36-4-1 and this season's Little East title-holder, advances to the 2010 NCAA Division III Softball Championship, May 21-25, at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Coast Guard, the 2010 NEWMAC champion, finishes the season with a record of 35-9.
