Christopher Newport scores 3 runs in the 6th to rally past Tyler 9-7 to advance to Monday's championship round.  Newport needs 1 win to win the championship.  Tyler will play the Linfield/Cortland winner tomorrow afternoon.

Final eliminatrion game of the day Linfield vs. Cortland.  In the first game back on Friday Linfield shut out Cortland 10-0, we'll see if Cortland has any better luck.  All I'll say for them is they better not commit 8 errors again and expect to win.  Claire Velaski for the Wildcats, Lyndsay Rowall for the Red Dragons once again.   Cortland is home team so will get last ups once again.

Linfield Cortland postponed by rain in the first with Cortland leading 1-0; this will resume at 10:00 am.
Winner of that plays Tyler at 12, and the winner of that noon game advances to the championship against Christopher Newport.

My predictions:
Linfield beats Cortland.  The extra day could be good for them.
Tyler beats Linfield.  For some reason Linfield has had problems with them in the last few years
Tyler beats Chris Newport to set up a game on Tuesday.

Linfield 5-1 top 4th.

Linfield wins 12-1 (final 5 innings), will play Tyler next looking to avenge their only loss, and the only game they were held scoreless in the tournament.

Linfield scores 4 in the 6th to walk off with a 9-1 run.  Have to wonder if Rathburn stays in the 5th instead of giving way to Akcer was the difference.  Those 2 batters Akcer faced both walked, which turned out to be the winner.  Granted, Rathburn got crushed when she came back in, but pitching in relief with 2 runners on, is a lot different then starting the inning with no one on.  Bad day for Eastern as their graduation was today as well I believe.  Linfield sticks around to play the Cortland DePauw winner at 7:30.

Can only look forward to next year.  ECSU returns everyone except Soychak. (who did graduate yesterday)

sure like to watch the camaraderie and precision the LINFIELD team demonstrates.
Last time I saw them a couple years ago it was a bunch of left handers trying to slap their way on base.  I suppose they could still pull that off if need be.  I like the big ball they play now.
A well rested Christopher Newport team is going to be very challenging.
