Some Ithaca updates:
Messiah defeated Muhlenberg 8-3 & St. John Fisher just finished a 1-0 win over West Conn.  Tough game to lose for the Colonials.  Mag Dargon gave up only 4 hits, walked 2 and struck out 10, but it wasn't enough as West Conn could only manage 2 hits off of SJF's starter Sarah Stefanon and that was a Luigina Facchini single in the second and a Jackie Zilnicki single in the 4th.  Besides those 2, the Colonials could manage 0 base runners the rest of the day as SJF committed 0 errors and Stefanon walked no one.  SJF's run in the 7th was unearned, so both pitchers gave up 0 earned runs.  Luckily Mag will be able to start tomorrow, but its a long climb out of the losers bracket, but I have faith.  We next play Muhlenberg tomorrow at 10:00 am.  Middlebury vs. Keuka and Centenary vs. Ithaca are still to come at 2:30 & 4:30 respectively.
Providence updates:
Eastern shuts out Husson 7-0.  Molly Rathburn just owned Husson today, 2 walks, 0 hits, 16 (sixteen!!!!!!!!!!!!!) strikeouts as she no hits the Husson Eagles.  16 of the 21 outs Rathburn recorded were via the strikeout.    And for good measure she finished 2-2 with 2 walks, 1 RBI and 1 run scored with a home run on top of it.  I'd say it was a pretty good day.
RIC a 4-1 winner over Worcester state.  Not as impressive as Rathburn was (but really who can follow a 0 hit, 16 strikeout performance), but Amanda Berard finished with 5 hits allowed, 1 run, and 10 strikeouts, in leading the Anchorwomen past Worcester state.
Eastern will square off against RIC tomorrow at 2 PM, with Endicott against St. Joseph's and Coast Guard against Lesley slated for 2 PM and 4 PM respectively.
Good day for the 3 aces of the LEC teams.  When you combine Mag dargon (West Conn), Molly Rathburn (Eastern), and Amanda Berard (RIC) totals, they combined for 2 runs (1 earned), 6 walks, 9 hits and 36 strikeouts in 21 inning's pitched.  Its unfortunate that the Colonial offense couldn't do anything because all 3 girls deserved to get wins today.

Regional updates:
Keuka beats Middlebury 5-0.  Lets hope Ithaca doesn't lose otherwise my championship game prediction will be taking place in an elimination game.  Middlebury had the bases loaded with no one out in the 7th and had 3 pop ups in the infield to end the game.  St. Joseph's beats Endicott 8-1
Baldwin-Wallace over Bethany 6-3 in Adrian, Whitewater and Coe scoreless in the 4th (Coe is hitless), UW-LaCrosse got a walk-off winner agaist North Central to win 2-1.  CNU beat Va Wesleyan 8-6, Salisbury has a 3-0 lead in the 3rd against Farmingdale.
Late games: Ithaca beats Centenary 8-1.  Centenary didn't get their first hit until the 6th inning.  That sets up Muhlenberg vs. West Conn at 10 am and Centenary vs. Middlebury at 12 in the losers bracket and Messiah vs. Fisher at 2:30, Ithaca vs. Keuka at 4:30 in the winners bracket.  Lesley is leading Coast Guard 3-1 bottom of the 4th in te final game in Providence.  St. Thomas up 8-2 over Wiscy-Eau Claire in the 5th with Wiscy-River Falls vd. Ripon still to come.  Coe was a 1-0 win over UW-Whitewater, Benedictine vs. Central 0-0 bottom second in the last game in Pella.  Hiram up 4-0 over Alma bottom 6th in the final game in the Adrian region.  Salisbury gave up 1 hit in a 4-0 win over Farmingdale state and Shenandoah vs. Rowan is scoreless top of the 4th in the final game of the Salisbury regional.
Final at Adrian as Hirma blanks Alma 4-0, Coast Guard scored 3 in the bottom of the 5th to break even with Lesley 4-4 top 6, St. Thomas defeats Wisconsin-Eau Claire 9-3.  First day rounding down, only 2 games currently going on (Lesley vs. Coast Guard in providence, Central vs. Benedictine in Pella) and 1 game still to come (UW-River Falls vs. Ripon in Eau Claire).
Coast Guard scores 3 runs each in the 5th and 6th to turn a 4-1 deficit into a 7-4 win over Lesley.  Providence has Husson vs. Worcester at 10 am, Endicott vs. Lesley at 12 in the losers bracket, Eastern vs. RIC at 2, St. Joes vs. Coast Guard at 4 in the winners bracket.  Central has blown their game with Benedictine open as Central has a 10-4 lead bottom 5th.  Even though Shenandoah is getting outhit 7-3, they lead on the scoreboard 2-1 over Rowan top 7th.
Shenandoah 4-1 winner over Roawan, Central 12-7 winners over Benedictine.  River Falls Ripon last game of the day, 0-0 top second.
Final game of the day ends with Ripon a 4-2 winner over UW-River Falls.  River Falls had the winning run at the plate with 1 out in the 7th but couldn't get anything done.

Western vs. Muhlenberg.  Elimination game for both teams would be a tough ride back to Danbury for the Colonials.  Mag Dargon pitched very well yesterday against SJF giving up 4 hits, 2 walks, 0 earned runs and 10 strikeouts, but offense couldn't do anything in a 1-0 loss.  Mag is back on the hill today against.  West Conn is the "road team" on the scoreboard, so the Mules will get last ups in the 7th if need be.  Pitching for the Mules is Ashley Brewer.
West Conn 0 Muhlenberg 0 top 1st just started.
West Conn 2 Muhlenberg 0 bot 1st.  Luigina Facchini reached on an error which scored Amy Hartman, followed by a Meghan Mammone doubled scored Luigina.
West Conn 4 Muhlenberg 0 bot 3rd.  Danielle Basciano home run makes it 3-0, and then Anna Levesque singles home Amy Hartman later in the inning.
West Conn 9 Muhlenberg 0 top 4th.  Danielle Basciano double scores Jackie Zilnicki (Danielle advanced to 3rd on throw home), Amy Hartman double scores Danielle, and a Gina Facchini double scores Amy.    Would've been nice to have some of these runs yesterday, but its just survive and advance, and thats what we'll do.  Meghan Mommone double scores Gina, Asli Morris pinch runs for Meghan, Ashli advances to 3rd on a wild pitch, and she scores when Anna Levesque reached on a error by the 3rd basemen.
West Conn 9 Muhlenberg 5 bottom 4th.  Bases loaded walk to Alyssa Bruckner gives the Mules their first run of the game.   Mules score 2 more, 1 on a fielders choice and the other on an Amy throwing error.   We have a game again as an Ashley Brewer single and Gina Facchini error allow the Mules to score 2 more to make it a 9-5 game.  Only 1 of the 5 runs scored by the Mules this inning are earned.  Kelly Kline ends the inning grounding out to 1st.
West Conn 11 Muhlenberg 5 bottom 5th.  Melissa Fracker scores on a fielding error, and Western gets 11th run when Danielle scores on a Gina single to right, Larissa Farmer double scores Jess.
West Conn 20 Muhlenberg 5 top 6th.  Melissa Fracker single scores Meghan Mammone, Jess Caturano single scores Melissa and Anna Levesque.  Amy Hartman single scores Jacki Zilnicki.  Gina Facchini clears the bases with a 3 run homer to Center which scores Danielle Basciano and Amy Hartman.  For good measure Anna scores her second run of the inning with a homer to right
Western wins in 6 20-5 over Muhlenberg.  We play the Keuka Ithaca loser tomorrow at noon.  Mag didn't have her best game (7 walks only 4 k's), but the offense showed up in a big way today.
In the Providence regional (also following on live stats), Worcester state defeats Husson 10-2.  Husson is eliminated, Worcester state will play the loser of Coast Guard St. Joes which takes place later today.

Miss College wins 5-2, Endicott lesley 0-0 bot 5, Middlebury 4-0 lead over Centenary top 2, St. Scholastica 3-1 over North Central top 6, Western won 20-5 over Muhlenberg, Fontbone 5-3 bottom 6, Moravian Staten island tied at 5, top 5, 3-0 Alma over bethany bottom 4, Farmingdale 1-0 over Rowan top 6.  La College vs. C-MS from Tyler should start in anout 30 minutes.

Louisiana College with a 5-2 winner over Claremont-Mudd Scripps. River Falls eliminates Eau Claire 4-1, DePauw beats Ohio Northern 13-5.  Messiah gets a run in the 7th, beats SJF 1-0.

Eastern vs. RIC in the winners bracket of the Providence regional.  Even though the loser goes onto the losers bracket wouldnt be at all surprised to see these 2 play for the championship.   Same pitchers from yesterday: Molly rathburn for eastern, Amanda Berard for RIC.
Eastern 0 RIC 0.  Game should be starting soon.
Eastern 1 RIC 0 top 2.  Molly Rathburn single scores Megan Godwin.
eastern 6 RIC 0 top 5.  Arielle Cooper single scores Megan Godwin, Rachel Soychak single scores Rathburn, and a Stephanie Johnson fielders choice scores Arielle, kelly Peterson reaches on an error which allows Stephanie and Courtney Webber to score.  Amanda Berard ends the inning by striking out Christina Yeomans, but RIC has a big hole to climb out of now.
Eastern 11 RIC 0 final.  Rathburn single scores Godwin, Arielle Cooper single scores Priscilla Alicea, Rosie manzo single scores Molly & Arielle, and Eastern finishes the game scoring with a Christina Yeomans single scoring Rosie.  I didn't think it was possible, but Rathburn actually threw a better game today hen yesterday.  Even though she only struck out 5, she walked none, gave up no hits again, and was an error away from a perfect game.  She got a double play to erase RIC's only baserunner, so she ended up facing the minimum.  She improes to 21-0 on the year, and has thrown 13 innings of hitless ball so far.  I don't want to sound like an LEC homer, but this team has a great chance to win the championship this year.
RIC will go onto face Endicott tomorrow while Eastern faces the Coast Guard/St. Joseph's winner.

Big day in the LEC today: RIC playing Endicott now, Western playing Ithaca at 12, and then Eastern against St. Joseph's at 2.
RIC decided against starting Amanda Berard for this game, saving her for the 4:00 game, we'll see if that backfires.  Kyla Puccini gets the start instead.  Will be interesting to see what Western does today.  If they win, they'll have to play later on, and our #2 has been sick the last week.  Do we throw Mag both games, wait and see.   Endicott is the home team for this game.
RIC 0 Endicott 1 top 2.  Endicott got a single with the bases loaded to score the first run of the game.
RIC 3 Endicott 3 bot 5.  Sorry, had to go run an errand.  Endicott got 2 in the 2nd to make it 3-0, RIC came back with 1 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th to knot it up.
RIC 4 Endicott 3 bot 7.  Donielle Mattoon triple scores Marisa Jandreau.  Amanda Berard is in relief of Puccini now.
RIC 4 Endicott 3 final.  Endicott got a runner to second with 1 out, but thats as far as they advanced.  Endicott is eliminated, RIC faces the Coast Guard Worcester state winner at 4:00 PM.
SJF leads Middlebury 4-1 top 6 in Ithaca.
Also forgot to mention SJF and Middlebury tied at 4 bottom 7; Mid got 3 runs in the 6th to even it up.
Middlebury 5 SJF 5 bot 9.  SJF got a home run in the top half, Mid tied it with a double.  Panthers have runners on the corners with 1 out. Inning ended on a double play, onto the 10th we go, as Western and Ithaca contnue to wait.
