For viewers of this board, for the rest of the week, while I will check in on most conference tournaments, I will be concentrating my main attention on tournaments primarily in the New England and Northeast evaluation regions.  Also of interest to me will be the NJAC final as well as tournaments involving teams from Pennsylvania.

As I am an alum of Brandeis, these teams involved are within the 500 mile radius of the Brandeis campus, so I will be mostly watching them informally as potential first weekend opponents in the NCAA tournament.

I expect that Jessica Johnson, who coached Brandeis in the 2010 NCAA DIII Softball Tournament, is doing well in the Amherst coaching job.

UAA will resume league competition in the fall, so next spring, practically all of the Brandeis softball weekends will be booked with UAA league action (4 game weekends) between Emory, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, Wash U, and Case Western Reserve. (20 conference games in all-- a certain number of these 20 need to be played to qualify to win the UAA softball title, but there is no AQ that goes with it.)   6 weekends in the spring are needed for conference action-- there is one bye week.

Rochester softball plays in the Liberty League, while Chicago plays an independent schedule (due to Chicago's academic calendar.)

La Verne's record per SCIAC website is 3-3 so even if they win tournament they are not eligible; is that correct?

I'll focus mainly on Central/Midwest/Great Lakes region action, though for 5/15 I won't be on the board in the morning (COVID shot #2).
