SAA Update:

Centre won 2 back and forth games to get to the final in the BSC Pod, but BSC shut that squad out 6-0.

It'll be Berry vs. BSC in the SAA final for the AQ next week.

PAC Tournament opening was pushed back to 5/3 due to inclement weather:

PAC Underdog squad to watch: Allegheny (pre-season picked 7th, finished as #3 seed).
Led PAC overall with 17 HRs, 3rd in hitting (.326)
Top pitcher: Aleya Bellardinelli (14-2, 2.73 ERA 13 CG's)
C Cameron Long hit .333 with 7 HR and 25 RBI's (7 other starters had 12 or more RBI's)

Underdogs to watch: Ursinus (picked 8th, finished 1st) Dickinson (picked 7th, finished 2nd)

Norse P Kendra Cooper got both wins on the day.
#20 Coe was idle today.

MAC-Commonwealth:
Only mild upset here was #5 Eastern knocking off #4 Stevenson 8-0.
Then Eastern went up against #1 Lebanon Valley and lost 12-1.
Lebanon Valley's strong offensive output enabled P Erin Sinatra to do it her way, needing only
62 pitches to get the win.
#3 York PA eliminated #4 Stevenson 3-0.

MAC-Freedom:
#4 Stevens and #2 Lycoming were both knocked off in mild upsets. One of those squads will be eliminated after they play each other later. Top seed Misericordia beat Arcadia 8-1.

USA South:
Both higher seeds won in the first games on either side.
Mary Baldwin and William Peace won the 2nd games.

Day #1 action at MIT now rescheduled for Friday, May 5, 2023, and the remainder of the tournament has been delayed 1 day for each round, so the final day of the NEWMAC tournament if necessary will be Monday, May 8, 2023.

Game #1-- (#4 seed) WPI vs (#5 seed) Babson at MIT-- 2:30 PM Eastern

Update-- Friday, May 5, 2023-- 1:41 PM Eastern-- Games #1 and #3 (Day #1 MIT pod) have been moved to WPI and are scheduled to be played today at WPI's Rooftop Field in Worcester, MA. MIT is scheduled to have Day #2 action in Cambridge, MA tomorrow, May 6.

Updated action will have (#5 seed) Babson at (#4 seed) WPI at 2:30 PM Eastern, with the winner of that game playing (#1 seed) MIT at approx 4:30 PM Eastern on the WPI campus.

Coe swept Buena Vista to clinch the top seed for the ARC tournament 7-3 and 6-2. H Ausenhaus got the win in Game 1, Ellie Thurow in Game 2.

Luther-IA, Central-IA, Wartburg and Loras are also in. NE Wesleyan and Dubuque are still in contention for the final spot. Dubuque will get in by sweeping Simpson tomorrow (Spartans hold tiebreaker over Prairie Wolves). A Simpson split or sweep and NE Wesleyan gets in.

#5 seed Trinity (15-26/10-10 SCAC) defeats #4 Centenary (17-23/12-9) 1-0 thanks to a one-hitter by Jordan Arce.
#3 Southwestern (21-20/13-8) defeats #6 Schreiner (16-23/9-12) 8-3 as Madison Vela picks up her 11th win

Second round:
Trinity upsets #1 TLU (25-5/19-2) 1-0; Arce fires a five hitter and scores the only run in the game. First loss for TLU in the SCAC tournament since 2016.
#2 St. Thomas (29-9/17-3) leads Southwestern 6-1 and have a runner on second with nobody out in the bottom of the sixth.

Tomorrow (assuming St. Thomas wins):

Misericordia has the MAC Freedom AQ They knocked off Lycoming 4-0 today to clinch.

Belhaven has the CCS Title! The Blazers won 2 games vs. Maryville-TN to take the title (and perhaps a Pool B bid??)
