Take away the two big plays (89 yards and 56 yards) by Hobart for touchdowns, and this would be a close game dominated in the yardage column by Utica.  Very bizarre game playing out there, even with a 28-7 lead for Hobart.  Another sloppy night game for both teams.

Coach Cragg has to be having a massive coronary on the field -- TWO defensive pass interference penalties against Hobart inside the red zone led to a Utica TD (28-13 Hobart late in the 3rd).  First downs are being led by Utica by a HUGE margin (21-7), with yardage nearly even.  Again, just a bizarre game that included a 33-yard penalty for intentional grounding against Utica on fourth down (immediately leading to a Webb 56-yard TD).

ANOTHER red zone pass interference call nearly leads to another Utica score.  However, Hobart's red zone defense stops Utica at the 3.  First downs now 24-7 in Utica's favor, as is the yardage total.

Hobart seals the deal with a late TD, but this game leaves as many questions as it does answers.  Conlan goes 9-16 for 69 yards and two TDs... But two INTs.  The average per completion was pretty low.  Is Hobart going to become more one-dimensional offensively this year (with the run)?  Weather may have played a role, but Utica's passing game was pretty effective outside the 20s.  I wasn't convinced that Utica is a contender this year after watching last week at Gaetano.  So, the Hobart hiccups in the game concern me.  I've had them lower on my ballot than the actual poll place (by about nine spots), and they'll remain there.  However, I think this year's team is more vulnerable than last year's until the passing game picks up or eliminates the mistakes.

Everything about this situation in Schenectady is classless from the union players behavior to the spots.  The clock bs a couple of years ago hasn't been forgotten either.

Sorry slip, but I can't root for Union anymore against other teams.

14-0 Bart late in the first.

Hobart fumbles after 4th down conversion and takes an unsportsmanlike to give SJF nall on Bart 40

67 yard punt by SJF (Sweeney) pins Bart on 2. Everything working in SJF's favor.

Hobart punts...awful from the 6 to their 15. Statesmen look awful thus far.

I think this is Season 3 -- they had a complete redo on the field and stands.  Quality job done by them.

[EDIT: I think from this, the turf was done in 2010, the rest for 2011:  http://www.hwsathletics.com/sports/2008/6/27/GEN_0627081321.aspx]

Yea that looks very nice.  What's the purpose of a 3 lane track?  Just like a walking track for recreation?

Wondered about that when we were there this fall...
