Goal Line Stand for the Saints, still 17-7 at half

Olorin

Rpi up 17-14, 5 min left springfield receiving the kick

SLU still up 17-7 in the 4th Q

Wow. Props to hobart for coming back. Refs absolutely gave them two first downs with some of the worst calls I've ever seen

That was pretty horrid officiating.  Phantom PI's all over the place.  Also, the Hobart broadcasting crew might be the worst I have ever heard in all sports.

Just spoke with someone there, apparently the controversial TD at the end was intercepted, but since the Hobart WR had a hand in there and they went to the ground they called it a 'tie'. And rule says the 'tie' goes to the offense

The Fail Mary is not exclusive to the NFL it seems.  You can bet that Mark Raymond will be calling the league offices.

Was at the game and watched the final play from the goal line. It was definitely a legit Hobart score, in fact, many  Saints fans who were at that end of the field agreed , except for the heart broken. There were quite a few blatant defensive interference calls not made on the Larry DB's ( perhaps those were the ones Ted Baker discussed on air??)but I think there were a few that went Hobart's way as well, all in all officiating cancelled out on both sides. Great effort by both teams and congrats to Hobart for protecting home field against a great SLU squad. Emotional win for a Hobart  that the coaching staff almost blew by not kicking the field goal at the end of the first half. This loss must be tough for the Larrys ,but you have a great team, Hobart just wanted it a little more today to avoid another celebration at the Boz like the one RPI had a couple of weeks ago. A Great game that really showed what D3 football is all about.

I know the interference calls you're referring to, and they were correctly not called because the Hobart receivers ran out of bounds or the passes were not catchable.  Regardless, it should be a win next week against Merchant Marine.  I don't expect the team to make it very far in the tournament considering the huge disparity in talent with the powerhouses, but it will be huge to wrap up the LL title at home.

Actually there was at least one that the SLU defender pushed the Hobart reciever out right in front of my section. At the end of the day Hobart had 12 penalties called against them while SLU had 6, in fact the Hobart section joked that the refs were from Canton, but you expect that . I think the Refs tried to do the best they could and I don' t think it actually favored one team over another. Still a great game as both teams left it all on the field. However, just saw that SLU AD posted a remark that the The Saints lost the game on a questionable call. Sorry, I was there , saw it, he is wrong and that is a bush league comment by an AD. I was going to root for the Larrys, but no more....GO Mariners

I wish I could have watched to have been an unbiased opinion. But of course, one has to pay for some reason, so no.
