U and SLU ties 17-17 at half. U's secondary torched for 300 yards in the first half.

SLU has a good QB and they run a decent air raid 5 wide system that can burn you if you aren't in the right places.  That kid and offense is going to get better each week.

Ithaca up 14-0 at the half.  Sloppy chippy game on both sides but Ithaca is able to convert on two really nice passes and catches by Gladney and Vito.  Hobart's offense moving and converting but not getting much more than that.

IB is impressed with SLU. Some solid athletes and an excellent QB. U's pass defense is simply giving SLU receivers much too much room routinely and not adjusting, or able to adjust. Also SLU's O line is really dominating that LOS against some strong Union Dlinemen.

Ice expects U to come out a different team this half but it will be a dogfight. All the credit to SLU right now. They've earned it.

Ithaca kicks a FG to go up 24-0 here mid way through the 3rd.

Hobart not getting any breaks.  Top defender gets tossed, Joe G. fumbles on 4th but picks it up and pitches it for a TD, then Hobart fumbles on the KOR.

Dutchmen play a much better 3Q and head into the fourth up 24-17 and driving.  Still a nail biter.

Ice Beats says Union now up 31-17. Both teams playing tough. Union now doing what they need to thanks to Oline and Irabor. SLU still fighting.

Union completely dominates the second half for the 38-17.  As ugly as the first half was, nice to see the U handle a little adversity and put the game away.

GAME DAY:...I just logged on to the Buffalo St. video feed. Excellent picture and audio though it appears there's only a single point camera position. I'm wary of the Bengals squad and hope for any Union victory. also that there are no injuries. Let's Go U.

Announcers sound young, maybe students? Sounds like they know what they're doing.

That was fast. Union returns the kickoff into Buff St territory and scores in 4 plays. Bellamy to Ross Jr. 7-0.  So much for that.

Something Important...Union holds on downs and scores again Bellamy to TE Spencer Crystal, they don't throw to the TE often enough IMO. 14-0.  The important thing. No sign of Ike Irabor in the game. Not sure if it's injury related but I sure hope not.

Not so fast my friend...After Union turns over the ball on downs, Bellamy missed Ross who was wide open behind the D, the Bengals drive the field to score. Ciezki to Everett. 14-7.

Ithaca opening up now against Rochester after a somewhat quiet first quarter.  3 passing touchdowns from Germineiro, one to each of Vito, Gladney and Anderson just now for 70 yards.

Ithaca up 21-0 with 5:19 to go in the 2nd quarter.

After a couple of personal fouls on each side and Bellamy under throwing an open Ross in the end zone.  He doesn't miss Will Sirmon. Union 21-7.

Halftime from Buff St....Union 21-7.  Much credit to the Buff St offense. They've moved the ball well with 166 yds  and 12 1st downs. They had a lot of time of possession keeping Bellamy,Ross and company on the sidelines.Their D is unable to slow down the Union attack however. Union messed up a 3 minute possession late with some poor clock management and a missed field goal. The Bengals didn't stop them. They stopped themselves.     

My concerns as a Union fan. First and utmost...Irabor... Second, the defense is not sharp with Buff St controlling the line of scrimmage for the most part... Third, Bellamy is not at his best, missing some open throws. With that said the Dutchman are firmly in control of this game.
