And with one last fumble of the ball, the game ends.  Union wins the Liberty League 31-21.

Congrats to the Dutchmen, you won this one where it counted most: on the field.

Wow, what a game.  That was super entertaining, to boot.  Irabor is a beast.  Hats off to all the Bombers, and Joe G in particular - that's a heck of team. The diversity of having a run game, combined with pressure of Joe G all day, makes the difference.

Jonny Utah

RPI up 14-0.

Nice drive for their first TD, then they pick off Joe G on a nice play by the corner.  Trick play TD, then they recover a fumble on the KOR.

Still very early, but Ithaca needs to settle down and play smart.

And now 21-0.  Swanstrom did not have his boys ready to play.  No focus and no gameplan.  Spotting RPI 21 points with be a real test for the prolific Ithaca offense.

Jonny Utah

21-0 RPI

Ithaca is not ready to play.  After last week it was clear they have zero shot at any sort of National Championship/Final Four hopes, and now it looks like the Cortland game should be it.  Still think they can win this but it is clear to me not that this Ithaca team doesn't have it.

Classic trap game.  Lots of missed tackles, mental mistakes, not playing physical.  Germinerio looks just terrible so far.

RPI did a nice job watching the Union game tape.  Running hard to the edge, and bringing lots of pressure straight up the middle in Germ's face.

Jonny Utah

RPI playing too conservative here.  IC needs one TD this half to keep this close.  Momentum has settled down at least.

Inkblot

Just looked at the scoreboard for the first time today.

I did not expect to see this.

Germinerio is intercepted for the 2nd time today to secure a scoreless first half for the Bombers.  Ithaca's offense has just 83 total yards with 3 turnovers.

And RPI is able to drive it down for a last second touchdown to finish off the half.

RPI leads 31-0 at halftime. Ithaca's playoff hopes are gone.

Jonny Utah

Wow  31-0 RPI at the half.

I wasn't worried about a 21-0 lead at the half, but this is a different story.  As unionpalooza said, this one is on the coaches.

Jonny Utah

Ithaca reminds me a lot of the Patriots those years they lost to the Giants in the Superbowl.  If you can rush 4 and get penetration, you shut the offense down.

unionpalooza

Union not off to a great start either.  Drives to the 2 on their first drive only to kick a FG that's blocked.  Utica puts together a nice drive but misses a 45-yard FG.
