Augustana 13 Wheaton 10.  The defense of Augustana is crashing into the backfield begging for a speed option instead of the slow moving read option.  Running the speed option with d players who crash into the backfield who will have no way to pursue do to the over aggression,  All you have to do is race toward the sidelines beating the d past their spot in the backfield a little down field blocking and your running wind sprints into the end zone.  Luther college does this every week.  You have to recognize what the defense is giving you.
Many teams know all about passing the ball but have forgotten or just dont know how to read the defense to run the ball.

Thunder look pretty bad in the first half vs Augie. Lots of missed tackles and for some reason Wheaton wants to play the rotating QB game with Bowers and Butler which I think hurts the development and rythm of the offense much more than it helps. Its a long trip to Rock Island and the Thunder players look like they got off the bus and expected the lowly eastern Vikings to not show up. If Wheaton doesn't show up in the 2nd half they will be regretting this game for the next 5 weeks.

Wheaton ties the score 13-13 after Augie tries a fake punt run on a 4th and 15 in their own territory.  Can't imagine what Cushman was thinking on that call.  Absolutely terrible decision.

Augie muffs a punt on their own 5 yard line.  Wheaton recovers and scores a couple plays later.  20-13 Wheaton.

Wheaton's offense looks horrible.   The two gift plays by Augie as noted above have given Wheaton the lead.

Wheaton has allowed Augie to battle them down to the wire. This one will be close. Augie on the move for tying TD (probably will go for 2 and win). Terrible tackling by the Thunder and Bowers has looked awful as the QB.
