Primary reason Monmouth is still in the game falls on punting.  Monmouth has kept Wheaton inside their own 10 yard line multiple times including after a 77 yard punt.

Conversely Wheaton manages a 21 yard punt from their 4, leading to Monmouth's only points on a 50/50 pass reception after starting drive at the Wheaton 25.

Monmouth with one first down in the half, and 34 yards on 30 plays.
