Augie up 21-6 on Carthage w/ about 4 minutes left in the half.

The RedMen had a nice drive going, but Jones fumbled at the Augie 24.

Mr. Ypsi

Oh, my!  With 34 seconds left in the half, Augie blocked a punt, recovered for a TD!

Augie 28, Carthage 6.

And that's the halftime score.

Mr. Ypsi

After 3 in RI, Augie leads 35-6.

Jones is taking right up from last week (now 30 of 40), but clearly just not enough.

New Tradition

7-7 in Bloomington.

10 min. left in the first half.

Wheaton leading 10-0 at half against Elmhurst.  Very windy day in Wheaton.  Passing attack is minimal for both teams.

Still 7-7 at half between the Cards and Titans.  Both defenses playing spectacularly.

Wheaton 177 yards offense in first half, Elmhurst 121.  Only one significant drive in the game (by Wheaton), 85 yards resulting in 3pts.  The TD came after a blocked punt by Wheaton.

Velling has 106 yards rushing in the first half on 16 carries.  Gingg must really be hurting, 6 carries for 19 yards.

IWU went 79 yards on the opening drive for a TD.  Later in the 1Q, NCC took one play to get a TD after recovering a fumble on the IWU 19 (only turnover for either team so far).

NCC had one pass for 57 yards (ultimately yielding nothing); otherwise the Titan D is holding them to barely over 3 ypp.  At one point, IWU led in yardage something like 190 to 67, though it has gotten more even lately.

IWU's lack of a kicker may cost them - Eash won't go for a FG even inside the red zone.

20 MPH winds, Chuck.  NCC decided against FG opps from the same type of field position in the 1st half.

Very similar situation in Wheaton.  Wind is gusty and definitely impacting the game.  Wheaton is electing to have the wind in the 4th quarter, knowing it might come down to field position due to the wind.

Wheaton is all over the Elmhurst QB thus far.  3 sacks in the first half, plus a couple of hurries.  Lots of 3rd & 4th and longs for Elmhurst.  Very little rushing for Elmhurst - 19 rushes for 44 yards (15 yards on a 4th and 14).

Titan Q

3 & out for NCC on their opening possession of the 3rd Q...after starting with good field position (45 or so).  Might be in for a very good 2nd Half in Bloomington.

Titan Q

And a quick 3 & out for the Titans.
