Wenger recovers IWU fumble and returns it 21 yards for a TD, extra point fails.  NCC 23-0 over IWU.

Glad to hear he's back in the game.
You win! You always do!

What a disastrous 3rd Q for the Titans.

Yet another Rooney INT returned 31 yards inside IWU 20 leads to another NCC TD.  30-0 NCC.

That is 7 Rooney INT's in 2 weeks.  Not good.

Holy crap, Batman!  At the half, Carthage 24, Wheaton 7. :o

Mr. Ypsi

Wheaton is 'storming' back - scored a TD (blocked PAT), and now have 1st and 10 at the Carthage 18 (midway in the third).  According to the scoreboard, however, the game is now delayed by lightning - gives new meaning to the Wheaton 'mascot'! ;D

Mugsy

Was at the Wheaton game until the lighting delay.

Obscure game.  Wheaton with 315 yards offense in first half, yet only 7 point.  3 missed FG's, and a very confusing call by Wheaton with a 1st and goal on the 3 inch line.  Instead of running they elect to pass and Jordan Roberts throws an INT in endzone.

At least 3 30+ yard pass plays in the first half where the ball was significantly underthrown and the Wheaton DB's failed to find the ball and the Carthage WR's came back for the ball.

Whoa!  Jordan Langs with a pick 6 and Wheaton is up 25-24 after being down by 17 at half.

Biggest adjustment in the 2nd half is that Wheaton switched to a zone defense and the Wheaton defense has stuffed Carthage in the 2nd half.  That and Jordan Roberts is continuing to be a dual threat.  Roberts with nearly 300 yards passing and 77 yards rushing.

Tyler Langs just had a 70+ yard punt return for a TD called back 30+ yards into the return.  Still good field position for Wheaton.

Wheaton O-line starting to exert their will, which I couldn't understand why Wheaton wasn't running more.

Wheaton just marches it down the field.  50 yards on 7 plays.  All rushing. Jordan Roberts and Rocky Gingg just pounding away.  31-24 Wheaton.

What a turn around.  Would love to have heard what Swider said at half.

Kicking game is an absolute TRAIN WREAK for Wheaton.  3 missed FG's, 2 blocked extra point.  This game would be a blowout if the kicking game was in place.

Another 3 and out for Carthage.  Carthage with only 30 yards offense in the 2nd half thus far.

I just made the same point on the regular CCIW board.  IWU's kicking game is so bad they have only attempted one FG all season (I nearly had a heart attack when it was good!).  Ironic, since Wheaton and IWU are the only undefeated soccer teams in the conference - everyone with a decent leg must be playing on the pitch! ;)

Mugsy

Victory formation for Wheaton.  What a comebak for Wheaton.  Final will be 31-24 Wheaton.

Jordan Roberts with a HUGE game.  20-35 for 277 passing, 3 TDs, 16 rushes for 110 yards and 1 rushing TD.

IWU lost @ Augie today.

Any live stats for the Augie/Wheaton game?  Stuck replacing the kitchen faucet, youngest taking a nap in the other room so I can't listen to the WETN crew.

Just turned on the radio quickly to get a score update.  Roche has just kicked his 2nd FG of the game, this one was 52 yards!  Goes to show you that clearly his is very talented, but has struggled with confidence.  Kudos to Wheaton staff for helping him this week and for having confidence to put him in to kick that FG.  A miss would have given Augie great field position.

Wheaton leads 6-0.

Back to the sink.

No live stats, as far as I can tell.

Wheaton 6, Augie 0 - mid 2nd

After Roche's struggles last week, he is 2-2 on FGs so far, including what WETN said was a 52-yarder. If true, that would be a school record!
