NCC with a big blocked punt, and now a 30 yard run to the ONU 25.  Feels like momentum changed in a hurry.

Come on, Cards, pick it up.

Thanks for the updates, Q. I don't have access to real internet to keep track of the games today, I'm stuck updating on my phone.

Halftime in Naperville...

North Central 14
Ohio Northern 3

NCC committed a huge penalty on ONU's first drive (12 men on field) that allowed ONU to extend the drive.  It eventually led to a Polar Bears FG.

Later in the half, with ONU punting from their own 8 yard line, NCC's Antonacci (sp?) called for the fair catch, but dropped the punt and ONU recovered.  However, NCC held ONU and blocked a punt -- which was the turning point of the 1st half.

NCC quickly scored on that next drive...then held ONU and forced a punt...and with about 1:30 to go, the Cards got the ball and scored on about a 65-yard drive (50 yard TD run by Kukuc).

Defensive battle in Wheaton today. Bethel 141 total yards. Wheaton with only 98. Wheaton held significant field advantage with 3 drives starting inside Bethel 40, but could generate little offense - 6 penalties didn't help. 120 of Bethel yards came on 1st and last drives of half. Key in 2nd half could be whether or not Flannery returns for Bethel - I think it was an ankle injury.

Both CCIW defenses look great so far.  Stay strong Thunder and Cardinals.

This is where NCC lost the game vs ONU last year. ONU just made better halftime adjustments than NCC. Time for NCC to turn the tables.
