Looks like IWU recovered a Wheaton fumble on the opening drive, returned it to the Wheaton 5 and then scored on the 1st play after that.  Not the way to start a game.

If that is the case, Wheaton did well to recover some what from such a poor start.

Following the IWU TD, Wheaton drove down and converted on a FG. So it was 7-3 IWU early in the game.

Next IWU drive was kept alive by a Wheaton personal foul, but IWU fumbled after a long pass play down deep into Wheaton territory.

IWU intercepted a Wheaton pass inside the Wheaton 20.  Yikes.  2 drives starting inside the Wheaton redzone.  I'd say it is lucky IWU only had 17 points.

Wheaton held IWU to a FG when the drive started on the 12 yard line.  So it was 10-3 IWU very early in the 2nd.

Next IWU drive sticks it down Wheatons throat for a TD, 17-3 IWU.  11 plays, 73 yards.  IWU clearly in control at that point.

Watkins returns the subsequent kick off 81 yards down to IWU 4 yard line.  Next play Wheaton scores TD, but Roche misses the extra point.  That was the score at half.

I don't get it.  Roche can hit 50 yard FG's, but has missed 4 of his last 6 extra points.  That will cost a game.

Wheaton tries a sqwib kick to start the 2nd half.  IWU recovers with good field postion - their own 43.

Looking at first half stats, seems to a defensive battle.  IWU has 3 sacks in first half.  Both teams with under 175 yards offense in the 1st half.

IWU 3 and out to start the 3rd.  Wheaton takes over on their 18.

Big holding penalty negates long run by Meador into IWU territory.

Holding penalty killed the drive.  IWU punt return to Wheaton 46.

Neither team having luck running.  Wheaton averaging 2.2 yards per carry, IWU 1.9.
