tough, uncharacteristic way to lose.

My guy was not -playing today for Millikin so I went with a friend to see the his son play for IWU against wheaton. What a great game! Wheaton had all the momemtum in the first half after Ladd Got knocked out but boy did IWUs ground game kick in in the second half. The middle of the IWU line imposed its will upon  the Wheaton defense and it made all the difference. Wheaton was very impressive with their running in the second half. the Wheaton OC seemed to know what IWU was going to do on key third downs had answered with some inspired play calls. I am not sure who the Wheaton QB was throwing to on the pick in the endzone. I was standing in the opposite endzone and all I saw was a green jersey, maybe the receiver fell down but definitely a key turning point in the game. Kudos to both teams very classy during the game and after.

YIKES!  The IWU @ NPU game is even more one-sided than I expected.  29-0 and the first quarter isn't over yet!  Total yardage so far: 171 to -14; Vikings yet to get a first down.

Even my green heart says "Ouch!"

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Mr. Ypsi

That seems to have awakened the LGs - they came right back with a 65 yard scoring drive of their own.  Tied 7-7 early in the 2nd Q.

Mr. Ypsi

IWU TD with 5:50 remaining in the half - now 14-7.

Another dumb penalty, a shanked punt, and shakey running don't help...

But you do seem to have good fortune on your side - Horn fumbled, Chambless recovered for a GAIN of 3 yards!

Mr. Ypsi

LGs get a TD with 16 seconds remaining - 21-14.

LGs then do onside kick, Titans recover but fumble recovered by Wabash.  INT by IWU then ends the half - wild finish!
