Long drive by NPU ends with a missed 44 yard FG.  Wheaton takes over leading 14-0.  Meador only has 13 passes thus far after averaging nearly 40 in past weeks.  Wonder if wind is a factor today?

Looking at the play by play, looks like one Wheaton TD came after NPU fumbled inside their own 10.  Otherwise it would be only 7-0 Wheaton.  Wow.

Not sure what's going on with the offense.

Wheaton driving, mostly on the ground.  Down in the NPU redzone to start the 4th quarter.

After nearly 500 yards in the air last week, only 75 today on 15 passes.  That is why I'm wondering if the wind is blowing like it is in Wisc.?

1st and goal Wheaton.  Looks like they are just feeding Geary and pounding the ball now.

Wind was howling at Elmhurst and was a big factor...IWU won the coin flip and took the wind.

Wheaton leading 21-0 now.  Geary 15 carries for 87 yards.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm on vacation in Wisc and it is blowing crazy.  Looking at the stats I figured the wind was a factor in Chicago as well.  Wheaton can't run the ball as effectively this year, which explains the closeness of the game.

Looks like Wheaton is wearing down NPU now.  2 straight long drives, pounding the rock.  Inside the NPU 15 now.

Wheaton leading 21-0 now.  Geary 15 carries for 87 yards.

Sounds like Geary has been a bright spot, moving into a feature back role for the first time this year per the radio team.   Hibben just caught a TD pass.

When's the last time Wheaton featured 2 freshmen RB and WR?

Mugsy

28-0 Wheaton.  TD pass from Meador to the freshman Hiben.  Hiben is making a huge impact for a freshman.  Be awhile since a freshman WR factored as much as Hiben.

Since I was a freshman and that was 20+ years ago.

Other than NPU's first drive of the 2nd half, looks like Wheaton has stuffed NPU offense in the 2nd half.

Jesse Geary, Freshman RB, 5'10" 220lbs from Colorado.  A big tough runner.  Looks like another good find for Wheaton.
