Holy crap...Gallik fumbled at the 1, going in!

Titans don't deserve to win this one.

devildog29

Unbelievable.  Another Gallik turnover.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Not sure I agree with Monmouth choosing D. it gives the IWU defense longer to rest and puts more pressure on a tired monmouth D.
Have to go on D first....  Gives your offense the opportunity to see what they need.

Ouch!!

Long offseason for Gallik if the D doesn't get a stop here.

I understand but it is the 3rd OT of a hard fought game

Monmouth wins.

Just not enough offense for IWU, and way, way too many mistakes.

If I know I only need a FG to win, that trumps having defense play back-to-back....

Actually from a yardage standpoint it wasn't too bad.  400+ yards.  The turnovers were the problem.

Keep in mind 70+ of that came in the OT's. OT games always skew the yardage stats. Still not a terrible day yardage wise in regulation though.

Yup, Titans had them down 17-0, couldn't put them away, then too many errors, turnovers, a few key penalties going against us today.  Give credit to Monmouth for fighting to the very end of OT period #3.  The penalty call on the Titans in the endzone was totally absurd.  Not a personal foul and not a late hit, as the receiver was still bobbling the ball.  And, I would bet if there was a replay on this game, Gallik scored on that fumble, getting into the endzone and breaking the plane before the ball came out.  I was in a good position on both plays, and those were very unfortunate calls, IMHO.  I happen to agree with Norm's call to take the penalty and put the defense back out, then we held them to a FG, and would have won the game save for the fumble at the goal line.  Our D played very very well, but the O seems to have had a short let-down in the third quarter.  Again, give credit to Monmouth.  They had a better running game than I expected.  I was not that impressed with Tanney or Air Monmouth, and we picked him early, and held him down pretty well.  The pass play that killed us was the check-off, flare out play, releasing a back as the receivers went deep.  Yes, the yardages will be interesting, but of course with 3 OT periods, you have to add at least 70-75 yards to each O during those sessions.  Tough tough loss, to be sure.  Gallik and the Titans will have better days.  I take my hat off to all the Titans, esp. the D this year, and to all the coaching staff for an excellent season, ending with this tough loss, going 9-2 for the season.   Today it was a game of inches, and a few tough calls going against the Titans.

I said earlier that this game would have a hard time exceeding the OT win over Wabash two years back, well it was just as good a hard-fought, well-played game, but the outcome was very disappointing this time.

My congrats to the Scots and my appreciation and gratitude to the Titan program for an excellent year of Titan football.  Heads held high.

Good start for Wheaton, leading 20-0 over BU early in 2nd quarter.  Lots of match-up advantages with such tall WR's & TE's.  Hiben already 5 or 6 catches with 1 TD.

Teams can not single coverage Hiben.  6'5" 220lbs, sub 4.5 40.  A beast for D3.

Really solid game for Peter Jarrett as well.  Very nice to see for a Sr. RB with so much talent, but injury plagued.  Would love to see him healthy for the year.

one problem area to address: 1 blocked PAT, 1 blocked FG.  That'll cost them when they get to CCIW schedule.

Wow, Wheaton looks really good.  They look big, fast and talented.  This should be a heck of a year in the CCIW.
