Good thought. I should try to take in some basketball games. And I'll be there for this year's basketball season. Any recommendations?

Good games everywhere depending on geography.  In DFW, catch the games at UTD.

There is incredible balance in the league for about 10-12 of the 15 teams.  Any game would be good.

Don't forget the women.
Howard Payne usually has an excellent team and sells out their gym.  Catch them at UT-Dallas or elsewhere.
