Thanks WLCALUM83 for keeping this board up to date - I come here often to see how everyone is doing.

I do have a question, HOPEfully you can help me out. I see UW Oshkosh has played 28 matches, MIT and Trintiy (TX) have played 27. Emory on the other had has played 17. So my question is this, what's the limit (if there is one) for total matches you can play?

I know in basketball (both men and women) you can play a maximum of 25 regular season games, plus any conference tournament games. I assumed something similar is in place for volleyball, just not sure, and the disparity in # of matches played leads me to believe my assumption is wrong.

According to online schedules, I see this disparity:

UW Oshkosh - 33 matches + 2 potential WIAC tourney matches = 35 total
Hope - 27 matches + 3 potential MIAA tourney matches = 30 total
Emory - 23 matches + 3 potential UAA tourney matches = 26 total

Sure seems like for the NCAA tournament selection committee, a wide spread in # of matches could be more difficult to manage and understand.

In my searching, the only limit I found was for NCAA D1 which has a regular season limit of 32 matches. '22 D3 champ Juniata played 27 regular season matches and 8 post-season matches. '22 Emory played 24 regular season matches and 5 post-season matches.

What I'm wondering about the disparity you refer to regarding Emory-could it be that the Eagles play a UAA in-conference schedule which involves 3 round-robins on 3 different weekends during the regular season, thus perhaps that affects their travel considerations? (from GA to NY to MO and/or OH --at least 3 long trips if they don't host a UAA meet)

Even "out in the middle of D3 nowhere" Colorado College played 27 regular season matches and 3 post-season matches in '22.
