To summarize last nights activity, very little went against the grain...

In the NATHC, indeed, the No1 seed Concordia Wisc lost to No 8 Dominican  -  but this is a conference that was evenly matched all season... Concordia had 6 conference losses as the no 1 seed.

No number 2 seeds were beaten by 7's in 19 opportunities

3 no 3 seeds were beaten by 6 seeds....
In the WIAC   6  Superior beat  3 La Crosse

In the IAC, 6 Wartburg beat 3 Loras

In the GNAC, 6 Lasell beat 3 St Joe's Maine

4 vs 5 are tossups and not realy worth detailing.....

Thanks for the recap!

Really no results with Pool C implications, except maybe La Crosse falling off the bubble, if they were even still hanging on.

We got through Tuesday without losing any bubble teams.  We'll see how Wednesday goes.

Were there many (any?) bubble games?  it seemed to me that most of the locks had byes until at least tomorrow, though I didn't look at it really closely.

CCC tourney had Gordon play a first-round game. Not sure if many people consider the Fighting Scots a bubble team, but I think they are at least close.

In any case, they play a second-round game against Colby-Sawyer tomorrow night. We all know that the Chargers can show up (Middlebury and Gordon's only conference loss) or not (the rest of their season).

Wooster also played, and won, against Kenyon.

Defiance also played, and won, but I'm not sure about their Pool C chances.

Plus, there's a number of leagues that have four-team tournaments in which there are no byes.

I would think Defiance's only chance for a tourney bid is with winning their conference tournament.  If they lose in the tournament that would hand them a 6th loss and would obviously hurt their Pool C chance.

Correct or not, I lumped the 4 team tournaments intob the same category as the teams with byes (i.e. didn't play quarterfinals, or at least didn't play yesterday!)  I know the CCIW is only 4-team... but in essence , they all get a bye because they don't have to play 3 games to win the tournament.

As an aside... do (or did) any conference playing their tourney this weekend play any regular season games this week?

The OAC is quite often an upset filled tournament.

#8 Marietta (6-12) at #1 John Carroll (15-3)
#7 Mount Union (9-9) at #2 Wilmington (13-5)
#6 Baldwin-Wallace (9-9) at #3 Capital (10-8)
#5 Heidelberg (9-9) at #4 Ohio Northern (10-8)

#3-#7 are all very even teams on the court, BW and Heid can certainly win those games, and Wilmington has sort of limped home the 2nd half of the season, just 6-5 in the last 11 and had to win the last 3 to get there.

Marietta lost both to JCU but the 2nd by only 2 points
Wilmington won in OT the first game, and lost the 2nd game vs Mt. Union.
BW split with Capital
Heidelberg lost the first to ONU by 7, the 2nd in OT
