Seeing that the Monon Bell Game is televised nationally, making it easier for people to stay home and not travel to the game, I was wondering where those who are going to the game are traveling from, and what number of Monon Bell games you have attended in person.

I am traveling from Denver, Colorado for my 14th consecutive.

Coming from just outside of Salem, Virginia. This'll be my 15th in a row.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

I commend you for making the trip from Denver.  This year will be my 31st consecutive Monon Bell game, most traveling from Indianapolis but three years from St. Louis.

Purely a guess, 10 across 25 years.  Most recently, last 4 from Eastern PA.

Saturday will be my 16th Monon game in 17 years.  Only missed 2008.  Stupid one to miss, too.

15th in a row for me as well.  It's like we were in the same class or something.   :)

Your filmer says the Wabash Bell defense plan is called Operation Scarlet Fist.

You guys make it too easy to make fun of you sometimes.  Those jokes just write themselves.

Nice.  I guess it's better than a defensive plan called Operation Crossed Legs.  What are the DPU plans called?  Please tell me your offensive strategy involves a big passing game and is called Old Gold Shower.
Sorry to disappoint, but the DPU men will not indulge the cavemen with golden showers.  Fear not though, at C'Vile A&M "water sports" are year-round activities.

Danny Boy, don't give dabash the credit of being an Agricultural and Mechanical school, we all know it is a technical community college.

Can't be there...too much travel going on. I get back from a trip Friday and leave on another Sunday. But I'll be at my computer screen for sure when I have a chance!

I'll be there, coming from New York. It'll be the first game at Hollett I've seen from the stands. Saw the 2001 game in person.

Wabash Hokie

Travelling from St. Louis for the 2010 edition of the Bell Game.  Have attended at least 25 games in person including a streak from 1974 to 1986 and have not missed a game since it has been broadcast via satellite, internet, or cable.  Hosted game day parties in Denver in the 80's, Washington DC in the 90s, and Wisconsin and St. Louis in the 2000's.

Breckenridgebear - your posts are entertaining.  I look forward to this board topic each year.

Thanks Wabash Hokie, I am glad someone is reading my work. The boards gives me a chance to vent without freaking out the office and my wife.

Have attended from Detroit, Grand Rapids, Boston, Chicago, and Indianapolis.  My first Bell game was 1982 (I was 14  ;D) and I haven't missed since - playing in 4 ('86-'89).  This makes my 29th straight...

What are your thoughts on the matchup this year?  Keys to the game?  Interesting scenario this year with DPU already in the playoffs...  I expect a very tight game this year.  I haven't confirmed this but heard the stadium is set for 14,000 this year.
